Remington Dusted by Koon

Level 11 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Ryan Remington
Ryan Remington

There were three players that saw a {3-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}{3-Clubs} flop and Ryan Remington led out with an all in bet of 39,000 from the big blind. Jason Koon called from early position and the button player quickly mucked their hand.

Jason Koon: {a-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}
Ryan Remington: {a-Spades}{9-Hearts}

Remington was out kicked and things got worse after the {q-Spades} turn gave Koon top two pair, leaving Remington drawing dead to the {2-Diamonds} river.

One for Champagne Poppin' Larry Ormson

Level 11 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Larry Ormson
Larry Ormson

Just before the break, Greg Buonocore raised to 4,000 from early position only to have Wisconsin's Larry Ormson three-bet to 10,000 next to act. Ormson did so while being poured a glass of champagne from a bottle he ordered from the Wynn drink server.

Action folded back to Buonocore, who called to see a flop of {q-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{7-Spades}.

Buonocore checked and then folded to a 10,000 continuation-bet from Ormson, who raised his glass in celebration.

Big Slick Doesn't Do the Trick for Ben Yu

Level 12 : 1,500/2,500, 2,500 ante

In the final hand before break, a player from middle position raised to 5,000 and Dylan De Stefano three-bet to 12,600 from the cutoff. Action folded to Ben Yu who four-bet jammed for 49,000 from the small blind and only De Stefano called.

Ben Yu: {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts}
Dylan De Stefano: {q-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}

Yu was racing for his tournament but couldn't catch a break, as the clean {8-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{j-Spades}{10-Diamonds} runout ended his tournament.

Start-of-Day Chip Leader Bryn Kenney Ousted By Alex Foxen in Brutal Cooler

Level 12 : 1,500/2,500, 2,500 ante
Bryn Kenney
Bryn Kenney

Bryn Kenney bagged the chip lead on Day 1b and started today as the big stack. Unfortunately for him, he's out within two hours after being on the wrong end of a cooler to Alex Foxen, the other big stack in the room.

We missed the hand as it happened, but players at the table were more than eager to share details. According to them, Kenney had raised preflop and Foxen called from the hijack. The players on the button and in the big blind came along and it was four-way action to the {a-}{a-Hearts}{3-Hearts} flop.

The big blind checked, Kenney continued for 9,000, and only Foxen called to see the turn, which was another {3-}.

Kenney bet again, this time 10,000, and Foxen just called to see a {q-} complete the board on the river.

This time Kenney checked and Foxen over-bet the pot to the tune of 112,000. Kenney woke up with an all-in check-raise to approximately 240,000, and Foxen, who barely had the bigger stack, snap-called.

Kenney tabled {a-}{q-} for aces full of queens, but it was no good as Foxen rolled over {3-}{3-} for quads.

With that, Kenney was eliminated while Foxen pulled in the largest pot of the tournament thus far (by a wide margin).
