Cheong Outfoxes Wolff

Level 12 : 1,500/2,500, 2,500 ante

We caught the action on a flop of {3-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} and George Wolff was all in and had gotten called by Joseph Cheong.

George Wolff: {q-Clubs}{8-Clubs}
Joseph Cheong: {3-Clubs}{3-Spades}

Wolff had flopped top pair, but unfortunately for him Cheong had flopped bottom set, which improved to a full house on the {4-Hearts}{8-Hearts} runout and sent Wolff to the rail.

MSPT's All-Time Money Lead on the Rise

Level 12 : 1,500/2,500, 2,500 ante
Rich Alsup
Rich Alsup

Minnesota's Rich Alsup, the all-time money leader on the Mid-States Poker Tour (MSPT), opened for 6,500 from the hijack and Zeng Wang called from the cutoff. Mario Mosboeck came along from the button, both blinds folded, and it was three-way action to the flop, which fell {j-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{10-Spades}.

The trio all checked and did the same on the {a-Hearts} turn. When the {q-Spades} completed the board on the river, both Alsup and Wang checked before Mosboeck bet 7,000.

Alsup thought for a few moments before calling and Wang quickly folded. Mosboeck tabled the {2-Clubs}{2-Hearts} but he was unable to buy it with his small pocket pair as Alsup had looked him up with the {a-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}.

BK Takes From CK

Level 12 : 1,500/2,500, 2,500 ante

Chris Klodnicki raised to 5,500 from middle position, Byron Kaverman three-bet big to 24,000 and Klodnicki made the call.

After Kaverman continued for 15,000 on the {a-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{5-Hearts} flop and Klodnicki made the call both players checked the {j-Diamonds} turn. The dealer fanned the {a-Spades} on the river, and after about a minute Kaverman slid out a bet of 11,000, which was called by Klodnicki who then folded when Kaverman tabled [A5d].

Fields Fells Rabinowitz

Level 12 : 1,500/2,500, 2,500 ante
Darren Rabinowitz
Darren Rabinowitz

The preflop action escaped us but we do know Darren Rabinowitz got the last of his chips all in preflop and was at risk against Eric Fields.

Eric Fields: {8-Clubs}{8-Spades}
Darren Rabinowitz: {a-}{k-}

It was a flip but Rabinowitz needed to improve to stay alive. Unfortunately for him, that proved easier said than done as the board ran out a lowly {4-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} to send the pot to Fields.

Last Bullet for MacDonnell

Level 13 : 2,000/3,000, 3,000 ante
Marc MacDonnell
Marc MacDonnell

With registration closed, Marc MacDonnell is on his last bullet of the tournament. A fortunate river just now may mean it's the lucky one.

MacDonnell got his stack of 62,000 all in preflop against an opponent who had him in a tough spot.

Marc MacDonnell: {a-Hearts}{j-Spades}
Opponent: {j-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}

The {7-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{10-Spades} flop didn't do MacDonnell any favors, while the {k-Clubs} turn gave him a gutshot Broadway draw. However, it was the {a-Clubs} river that would give him a winning two pair for the double.
