Day 1c, the final starting flight, in the $3,500 Wynn Millions Championship event concluded on Saturday with the $2 million guarantee being surpassed.
There were 694 entries registered, creating a prize pool of $2,203,450. When the third opening session concluded, Calvin Anderson, who bagged the largest stack on Day 1b, was no longer the chip leader. That is because Michael Babani, a poker player from Florida, ended Day 1c with more chips.
Anderson, now in second place heading into Sunday's Day 2 session, has 554,500 chips. Babani will begin play at Wynn Las Vegas with 599,500. Scott Ball, the Day 1a chip leader with 553,500, isn't far off in third place. Peter Neff (505,000) and Nicholas Pupillo (459,000) round out the top five.
Babani has just $65,000 in The Hendon Mob cashes dating back to 2018. That number was much smaller before he cashed for $40,000 last month when he took 10th place in the $5,000 WPT Venetian event.
Day 2 kicks off at noon on the Strip with 230 players remaining in the Wynn Millions headliner event. Stay tuned to PokerNews for live reporting coverage for the remainder of the tournament.
