The World Cup of Cards Continues at Playground Poker Club 0001

The World Cup of Cards (WCC) is on now at Playground Poker Club near Montreal, and this year’s edition is already a huge success! Continuing until Sept. 13, there is still more than $4,500,000 in guaranteed prize pools in WCC Events – the best is yet to come!

The 2017 WCC kicked off with the $220 partypoker LIVE Grand Prix Canada in which players competed for a $1,000,000 prize pool. The winner of the Grand Prix Canada was Raphael Duval, who took home $200,000 for his win – a big increase on the single $500 live cash he had on record before the event!

The first part of the WCC also saw side events ranging from a $110 Big Ante event to a $550 8-Max Freeze and each of them saw amazing action and prize pools far exceeding their guarantees.

Huge Guarantees Coming Up

The next big event in the 2017 WCC is the CPPT World Cup of Cards, running this weekend from Aug. 25 to 28. Again this year the tournament will be a $1500 + $150 NL Hold’em event with two Day 1s (best stack advances) and an awesome $400,000 Guarantee.

Attention will then turn to the new Playground1000 event. With a $1,100 buy-in, an Online Day 1 and 4 Live Day 1s, this is the second event in the WCC with a $1,000,000 prize pool guarantee.

Last but not least among the marquee events in the WCC is the brand new Canadian Poker Championships. This is a $2,200 NL Hold’em Event that boasts a massive $2,000,000 guarantee featuring an online Day 1, three single re-entry “normal” speed starting flights and an additional single re-entry turbo starting flight.

The Canadian Poker Championships features an innovative “Phase” structure that allows players to play their way in to the event for just $220 – and take their stack forward from the Phase tournament to a Day 1. You can start with 1,000,000 chips by buying in directly – or potentially with a lot more than that by qualifying through one or more Phase 1s!

Three Additional Events on Tap

There’s more! Playground Poker Club has responded to popular demand by adding two additional $5K 8-Max events plus a $10K High Roller 6-Max event to the schedule. The World Cup of Cards caters to all players, big and small.

In addition to all of these amazing events, the World Cup of Cards will feature a full range of Hold’em and non-Hold’em format events, all managed by what has been called the best tournament poker room in the world: Playground Poker Club.
