2024 World Series of Poker

The World Series of Poker (WSOP) just wrapped up its WSOP Paradise stop in the Bahamas yesterday, but already they’re turning their attention back to Las Vegas with the date announcements for the 2024 WSOP!

WSOP 2024 Dates

The 55th Annual WSOP will take place from May 28-July 17, 2024, and while the schedule of tournaments won’t be released until sometime in the new year, officials did confirm that the 2024 WSOP $10,000 Main Event will run from July 3-17.

After the success of this year's event, which saw record numbers including in the Main Event, the Series returns to its home on the Las Vegas Strip at Paris Las Vegas and Horseshoe.

“There’s not much more that can be said about what a special year 2023 was for the WSOP and the game of poker,” said Ty Stewart, SVP and Executive Director of the World Series of Poker. “But it’s time to turn the page and begin the countdown to 2024. Records are made to be broken. We’re busy on improvements to make sure 2024 is both the biggest and best event in poker history. Mark your calendars and bank those vacation days. We’ll see you in Vegas.”

When is the 2024 WSOP Main Event?

The Main Event is, as always, the marquee event in the 2024 WSOP schedule, and this year will start on Wednesday, July 3rd, and run for two weeks through Wednesday, July 17th.

The tournament is coming off a record-breaking year when Daniel Weinman topped a field of 10,043 players to win the Main Event for $12.1 million. It was the largest Main Event in the WSOP's 54-year history, surpassing the field of 8,663 players Jamie Gold defeated back in 2006 to win a $12 million first-place prize.

Did You Know? The 2023 Main Event was the largest in history, with 10,043 players – up from 8,663 players in 2022 – and generated over $93 million in the prize money.

Retaining its traditional $10,000 buy-in, players will have a choice of four starting days from the schedule presumably as follows: Day 1a-d from July 3-6, with late registration also remaining open on Day 2abc (Sunday, July 7, 2024) and Day 2d (Monday, July 8, 2024).
