2024 WSOP Day 26: Phil Ivey Makes The Final Day of Super High Roller

The sun has set (and nearly risen again) on another day of action at the 2024 World Series of Poker hosted at the Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas.

The biggest news of the day was four-time bracelet winner Yuri Dzivielevski becoming five-time bracelet winner Yuri Dzivielevski after he won Event #53: $3,000 Nine Game Mixed (7-Handed).

Originally scheduled to play down to a winner on Sunday, the WSOP opted to play Event #46: $1,000 Seniors No-Limit Hold'em Championship down to a winner today too. As a result, the event came to a close early with the victory of Khang Pham who won his first bracelet and $677,326.

Elsewhere at the series, Phil Ivey made the final day of the Super High Roller, Phil Hellmuth came 15th in the Super Turbo event, and the Millionaire Maker prize pool passed the $8 million mark.

Two days of super high roller action has got the field of Event #55: $250,000 Super High Roller No-Limit Hold'em right up to the money bubble. Day 2 ended with 14 players still in contention and 12 spots paid. Seventy-five players entered the event making for a prize pool of $18,675,000 and a first place payout of $5,415,152.

As you might expect from the most expensive event of the series, the Super High Roller has a stacked field with Adrian Mateos (16,250,000) leading the field followed by Santhosh Suvarna (14,950,000) and Taylor von Kriegenbergh (12,050,000) in second and third.

They are followed by names like Sean Winter (9,725,000), Jonathan Jaffe (8,075,000), Chris Hunichen (6,400,000), and Phil Ivey (5,650,000) who is still hot off his 11th bracelet win earlier this series in Event #29: $10,000 Limit 2-7 Lowball Triple Draw Championship (6-Handed).

Play restarts at 12 p.m. local time on June 23.

Event #52: $5,000 No-Limit Hold'em 6-Handed finished Day 3 with just four players still in contention. Mostafa Haidary (15,375,000), Krasimir Yankov (12,825,000), Bernd Gleissner (8,575,000), and Brandon Schwartz (4,300,000).

Having started with 817 entries, the event was down to 37 at the start of Day 3. Along the way, Day 3 saw the elimination of David Coleman (35th), Dong Chen (26th), Kharlin Sued (21st), Georgios Sotiropoulos (20th), Nenad Dukic (17th), and Jake Schwartz (14th).

Max Kruse started the day with some bad luck. Despite getting down to just a few big blinds, he was able to recover, spin up a stack, and make it all the way to the final table. He eventually bust in seventh followed by Pedro Madeira in sixth and Matthew McEwan in fifth. McEwan's elimination was the last of the day.

With a prize pool of $3,762,800, there will be $656,747 up top for whichever of the remaining quartet wins out. They will start to play down to the winner at 1 p.m. local time on June 23.

Millionaire Maker Prize Pool Hits $8.7 Million

Last year's edition of Event #54: $1,500 Millionaire Maker No-Limit Hold'em hit 10,430 entries. This year's version hit 6,523 with one more Day 1 flight to go. Day 1c kicks off at 10 a.m. local time on June 23.

An additional 3,721 entries joined the fray on Day 1b, the second of three Day 1 flights. In total, this brings the prize pool to $8,708,205 with 1,429 survivors now having bagged for Day 2 (834 new survivors from today's action).

As well as growing the field, Day 1b also gave us a new chip leader. Ye Yuan (875,000) replaces Day 1a chip leader Ori Elul (673,500) in first, nudging Elul down one spot to second place.

Notable bags from today included Chris Moorman (189,000), 2015 Main Event champion Joe McKeehen (163,000), Maria Ho (140,500), Kenny Hallaert (114,000), Kathy Liebert (85,000), and Mike Matusow.

They will rejoin the action on Day 2, along with the Day 1a and 1c survivors. PokerNews' traditional live coverage will begin then.

Deeb and Eveslage Still In Mixed Triple Draw Event

Event #56: $2,500 Mixed Triple Draw Lowball hit a record turnout of 371 entries generating a prize pool of $825,475. At the start of Day 2, that field was down to 104 players and by close of play there were just 15 players left.

The current chip leader is Patrick Moulder (1,820,000) who will start Day 3 with a small lead over the second biggest stack held by Amir Nematinia (1,560,000). They are the top stacks in a tough field that still includes Shaun Deeb (1,270,000), Chad Eveslage (1,030,000), and Day 1 chip leader Ryan Ko (1,020,000).

On the way to the final 15, among today's eliminations were notables like Todd Brunson, Kane Kalas, Allen Kessler, Ari Engel, and Roland Israelashvili.

The 15 remaining players will be back at 1 p.m. local time on June 23.

Phil Hellmuth Fails To Defend Turbo Title

Phil Hellmuth made a remarkable deep run in Event #57: $10,000 Super Turbo Bounty No-Limit Hold'em (8-Handed). Having won this event last year, the self-proclaimed G.O.A.T. made it to 15th this year, earning $28,463 in the process.

The event was originally scheduled as a one-day event. However, in a last-minute decision, play wrapped up when the final table was reached with plans to live stream the rest of the action tomorrow. With $3,061,800 in the prize pool, the final nine will be battling for a first-place prize of $612,997.

Aliaksei Boika heads up the table with 5,360,000 in chips. Oliver Weis is in second with 4,500,000 and Antoine Saout is third with 4,280,000.

The event attracted 486 entries, among them were notables like Josh Arieh, JC Tran, Mike Matusow, Christoph Vogelsang, and Cary Katz.

The survivors will play out the final table starting at 2 p.m. local time on June 23. The table will be live streamed by PokerGO on a one-hour delay.

What to Expect on Day 26 of the 2024 WSOP

Day 26 of the 2024 World Series of Poker falls on June 23. The day will be marked by a slew of bracelet winners — no fewer than four.

Event #52: $5,000 No-Limit Hold'em 6-Handed is due to crown a winner on Day 26.

Ivey and company will also be battling it out for the most expensive bracelet in Event #55: $250,000 Super High Roller No-Limit Hold'em and while the high rollers roll high, the low ballers will be balling low in Event #56: $2,500 Mixed Triple Draw Lowball.

The three scheduled bracelets are joined by the surprise live streamed final table of Event #57: $10,000 Super Turbo Bounty No-Limit Hold'em (8-Handed).

There is also one new event starting up on Day 26. The prestigious Event #58: $50,000 Poker Players Championship will kick off with a nine-game mix.

To round things off, the final Day 1 flight of the Millionaire Maker will also be kicking off. Day 1c of Event #54: $1,500 Millionaire Maker No-Limit Hold'em starts at 10 a.m. local time on June 23.
