2024 WSOP Day 14: Six $25K Fantasy Draft Picks Progress to the NLHE High Roller Final Day

The Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas were awash with poker's elite players on Day 14 of the 2024 World Series of Poker (WSOP). It was bound to be the case with events such as the $25,000 High Roller No-Limit Hold'em and the $10,000 Limit 2-7 Lowball Triple Draw taking place.

As you would expect, the chips counts of those events read like a who's who of the poker world, with no fewer than six players selected in the $25K Fantasy Draft progressing to the final day of the $25,000 High Roller No-Limit Hold'em.

The only bracelet of Day 14 went to Daniel Vampan, who will forever be known as the champion of Event #25: $3,000 6-Handed Limit Hold'em. Only ten players returned for the final day's action, and it was Vampan who was the last man standing, the recipient of $148,635, and the all-important gold bracelet.

All But 14 Gladiators of Poker Slane; Britton Leads Them Back Into Battle

It is incredible to think that 20,647 players were battling it out in Event #20: $300 Gladiators of Poker No-Limit Hold'em just a couple of days ago because only 14 of them remain in contention for the title of champion, the $401,210 top prize, and the all-important bracelet.

Simon Britton is the player to catch going into the final day's play, although with the stacks being as shallow as they are, it is anyone's tournament to win. Britton's stack is the equivalent of 27 big blinds, while the average stack is less than 18 big blinds.

Day 1a chip leader Caleb Levesque is still in the hunt for this event's bracelet. His leading from the start and marching on to victory would be an incredible achievement, considering the size of the field.

Play resumes at 3:00 p.m. local time on June 11, and continues until a champion is crowned.

Event #20: $300 Gladiators of Poker No-Limit Hold'em Top 10 Chip Counts

Yingui Li Leads A Field of 19 Superstars Into Day 3 of the $25K High Roller

Only 19 players will return for the final day of Event #26: $25,000 High Roller No-Limit Hold'em (8-Handed), and what a final 19 they are. Six players are part of the prestigious $25K Fantasy Draft competition, including chip leader Yingui Li.

Six-time bracelet winner Shaun Deeb, Day 1 chip leader Samuel Laskowitz, and Nick Schulman bagged up top ten stacks, while Dario Sammartino, Dan Smith, and Philip Sternheimer will each earn valuable leaderboard points for their respective teams.

Each of the returning 19 players is guaranteed to take home at least $62,737 for their efforts. Those who reach the official final table lock in at least $153,302, with the top two finishers earning seven-figure paydays. The champion will pad their bankroll with a colossal $1,667,842.

Day 3 shuffles up and deals at 12:00 p.m. local time on June 11, and the action will not stop until someone has all 47,700,000 chips in their possession.

Event #26: $25,000 High Roller No-Limit Hold'em (8-Handed) Top 10 Chip Counts

The $1,500 Big O Field Cut to Only 20; Tomoki Matsuda Holds the Lead

Japan's Tomoki Matsuda bagged up a tournament-leading stack in Event #27: $1,500 Big O, where only 20 players have a chance of becoming this tournament's champion. All of Matsuda's previous cashes stem from No-Limit Hold'em events, but he has shown he knows all about five-card Pot-Limit Omaha by coming out on top in the penultimate day.

All eyes will be on the man in tenth place at the restart, a certain Sammy Farha. The three-time bracelet winner endured a rollercoaster of a day at the table, but still navigated his way to yet another WSOP event's final day.

Nathan Gamble is the only other bracelet winner in the field, although he has plenty of work ahead of him if he is to add to his collection because he returns to the felt as the second-shortest stack.

Event #27: $1,500 Big O Top 10 Chip Counts

Nick Maimone Flying High in the $1,500 NLHE Freezeout; Phil Hellmuth Progresses

Freezeout tournaments are as rare as hen's teeth in the modern game, so it was unsurprising to see a bumper crowd turn out for Event #28: $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em Freezeout and enjoy some old-school action. A field of 2,319 was cut to a more manageable 215 over the course of 16 levels.

Only a 1,000 denomination chip separates Brian Barker and Conor Hannan at the top of the chip counts, with Scott Stewart rounding off the podium. Nick Maimone occupies fourth place at the restart and will fancy his chances of coming away with a second WSOP bracelet, to keep the online bracelet he won in 2020 company.

Others to look out for on Day 2 include John Riordan, James Dempsey, Matt Affleck, Kathy Liebert, Michael Moncek, Michael Noori, and the one and only Phil Hellmuth.

The cards will be back in the air at 11:00 a.m. local time on June 11, and the plan is to complete ten 60-minute levels.

Event #28: $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em Freezeout Top 10 Chip Counts

Can Benny Glaser Go Back-to-Back in the $10K 2-7 Triple Draw?

If you thought the $25,000 High Roller No-Limit Hold'em event was stacked, wait until you check out the chip counts from Event #29: $10,000 Limit 2-7 Lowball Triple Draw Championship.

Some 125 players bought in but only 65 punched their Day 2 tickets. Those numbers should increase with late registration open until the completion of the first level on Day 2.

Naoya Kihara leads the way right now, but their lead is under threat from a ridiculously talented chasing pack. Marco Johnson, Bryce Yockey, Calvin Anderson, Jason Mercier, Danny Tang, Bin Weng, and Maxx Coleman are among them, and they are just the $25K Fantasy Draft picks returning in the top 10!

Reigning champion Benny Glaser is lurking just outside the top ten counts, while such luminaries as Chino Rheem, Jeremy Ausmus, Nacho Barbero, Allen Kessler, John Monnette, and Yuri Dzivielevski also made it through to Day 2.

What to Expect on Day 15 of the 2024 WSOP

Three events will hand out their bracelets on Day 15 of the 2024 WSOP. Event #20: $300 Gladiators of Poker No-Limit Hold'em concludes, while Event #26: $25,000 High Roller No-Limit Hold'em (8-Handed) will dish out its bracelet and its massive $1,667,842 top prize at some point.

Event #27: $1,500 Big O is the third event to conclude on Day 15. Running alongside these two tournaments are the Day 2s of Event #28: $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em Freezeout and Event #29: $10,000 Limit 2-7 Lowball Triple Draw Championship.

June 11 sees three more tournaments shuffle up and deal for the first time. Event #30: $600 Mixed No-Limit Hold'em/Pot-Limit Omaha (8-Handed) starts at 10:00 a.m. local time, with Event #31: $3,000 No-Limit Hold'em 6-Handed starting two hours later at 12:00 p.m. local time.

As the clocks in Las Vegas strike 2:00 p.m., Event #32: $1,500 Seven Card Stud, the first stud event of the series, gets underway.
