Ladies Championship

This year has been nothing short of extraordinary for women in poker.

From history-making final tables to breakthrough titles across the globe, female players are owning 2025. And the summer isn’t done yet as you could be the next name in the headlines by winning a free seat to the WSOP Online $500 Ladies NLH Championship on GGPoker this August 30, courtesy of Fantastic Ladies in Poker (FLIP).

Women Breaking Records and Making History

The summer started with a milestone moment in May as Xuan Liu captured the $25,000 WPT Global Slam in Montenegro for $860,000, becoming the first woman to ever win a Triton Poker title.

At the 2025 World Series of Poker, women’s performances were front and center. Shiina Okamoto defended her Ladies Championship title, completing back-to-back victories after a runner-up finish in 2023. Esther Taylor rewrote history books in the $50K Poker Players Championship, finishing third for $595,136 for the deepest run ever for a woman in the event.

And Leo Margets reached the WSOP Main Event final table, ending a 30-year drought since Barbara Enright’s 1995 run, and once again proving women belong in poker’s biggest spotlight.

Titles Keep Rolling In

Beyond the WSOP, women kept winning. Jenny Westerlund banked $233,524 in Tallinn by outlasting a record 888-entry field in the WSOP Circuit Main Event. Giedre Valgemae turned a $15 satellite into $142,000 by shipping the GGPoker Masters. And Elena Litviniuk came within a whisker of WPT glory, finishing fourth in Cyprus for another $142,000 score.

Women-only festivals are also flourishing. PokerStars hosted its second Women’s Festival this summer, with ambassador Jen Shahade winning the Main Event, while the Queens of Tallinn is set to return later this month as one of Europe’s premier women’s stops.

Recognition Beyond the Felt

Women also swept up honors at the Sixth Annual Global Poker Awards in February. Cherish Andrews was named GPI Female Player of the Year, Rania Nasreddine won Breakout Player after she made back-to-back EPT Main Event final tables, and Francine Watson took home Best Industry Person.

Rising stars in content, including Abby Merk, Nikki Limo, and Marle Spragg, also grabbed trophies, proving that women are leading in every corner of the game.

Your Chance to Join the Spotlight

The summer isn’t over yet. On August 30, GGPoker hosts the WSOP Online $500 Ladies NLH Championship, where a gold bracelet awaits, along with a $30,000 WSOP Paradise package in the Bahamas for the champion.

Daiva Byrne, founder of Fantastic Ladies in Poker (FLIP), said:

“After a stellar summer for female poker players, the WSOP Online $500 Ladies NLH Championship is almost upon us. Not only is a gold bracelet up for grabs, but GGPoker has added a $30K WSOP Paradise 2025 package in the Bahamas for the tournament winner. I can’t wait for the fierce battle at the tables at the end of this month.”
