Great Lakes Poker Classic Will Feature $300,000 Guaranteed Main Event

It's almost time to battle in Michigan as the Great Lakes Poker Classic at FireKeepers Casino Hotel in Battle Creek is just around the corner.
The Great Lakes Poker Classic festival, which runs March 11-22, will consist of 36 events and will culminate with the $1,200 Main Event, a tournament with a $300,000 guarantee attached.
Adding to the excitement, PokerNews will be on-site at FireKeepers Casino Hotel and providing live updates of the Main Event action.
Plenty of Side Events
The Great Lakes Poker Classic festival will start on March 11 with the $240 buy-in No-Limit Kickoff, followed the next day by a $300 Pot-Limit Omaha event.
March 13 will see the start of the $30,000 guaranteed $300 Gargantuan Multi Bag event, which will feature six starting flights.
Other highlights on the schedule include a $300 Big O event, two separate $130 Seniors events and a $300 Escalating Bounty event.
The $1,200 Main Event will offer six starting flights, the first two of which will take place on March 19. The $300,000 guaranteed event will wrap up a few days after as a $240 "The Finale" event will close out the series.
There will also be several satellites running into the Main Event, giving players a chance to qualify for just $170 or even $70.
FireKeepers Casino Hotel is one of the top poker destinations in Michigan. Last May, the casino hosted the $1,110 buy-in MSPT Michigan Poker State Championship that drew 3,040 runners for a prize pool of $2.9 million.
That event saw Corey Wick defeating heads-up opponent Ryan Eamon to win $397,587, while the final table also included 2024 million-dollar bounty winner DJ Buckley.
