He was already inducted into the Poker Hall of Fame last year, but, with the way he's playing this summer, you'd think Nick Schulman was gunning for a nomination.

Schulman, who already has a bracelet victory and runner-up finish under his belt this year, reached his fourth final table of the 2026 World Series of Poker (WSOP) on Monday in Event #42: $10,000 Big O Championship, alongside the likes of four-time bracelet winner Sam Soverel and Day 2 chip leader Doug Lorgeree.

The eight-time bracelet winner ended up busting in fifth place for $197,362, the same place that he finished in another championship event, the $10,000 Dealers Choice Championship. For those keeping score, that marks four final table appearances for Schulman in just over two weeks.

Stellar Start to Summer

Japan's Naoya Kihara has undoubtedly put on the performance of the summer so far, having won both the $10,000 Seven Card Stud Championship and $10,000 No-Limit 2-7 Lowball Draw Championship. A nod also has so go to Kristen and Alex Foxen, who respectively won their sixth and fourth bracelets.

But Schulman's performance is right up there, having cashed for $431,690 across five events and four final tables. It started with a small cash in Event #5: $5,000 Pot Limit Omaha before he finished runner-up to Michael Casella in Event #8: $1,500 Limit Badugi for $94,607 to be denied an eighth bracelet.

But Schulman didn't have to wait long for number eight as he shipped $1,500 H.O.R.S.E. for $183,366.

Aces Cracked in Big O Championship

Schulman entered his fourth final table of the summer toward the bottom of the counts, but he managed to outlast the likes of eighth-place finisher Scott Clements and sixth-place finisher Sean Troha, according to PokerNews live updates.

With five players remaining, Schulman found himself all in with a pocket aces, which isn't quite as strong a hand in Big O as in Hold'em. His opponent, two-time bracelet winner Bruno Furth, spiked a set to end the Poker Hall of Famer's run at a ninth bracelet.

When he does eventually win a ninth bracelet, Schulman will join an elite class of players with nine-plus bracelets that includes Phil Hellmuth, Phil Ivey, Doyle Brunson, Erik Seidel, Johnny Chan and Johnny Moss.
