Sergio Aido Poker Background
Aido burst onto the live poker scene in March 2013, winning the £770 PokerStars UKIPT London Main Event for £144,555.
Over the next few years, Aido became a fixture on the European circuit, playing predominantly on the European Poker Tour (EPT). By 2016, his attention had shifted toward the burgeoning Super High Roller scene, particularly in Asia.
Having recorded the second six-figure cash of his career at the 2016 WSOP, finishing 14th in the $111,111 High Roller for One Drop, he notched two third-place finishes at the Triton Super High Roller Series in the Philippines, the second of which saw him secure $848,557 in the Main Event.
The following year, in February 2017, he won the Macau Poker Cup Single-Day High Roller and finished second in the Triton Super High Roller Series Philippines Main Event for $1,337,019 after a heads-up deal with eventual winner Koray Aldemir.
Six-figure cashes were now the norm for Aido, finishing second in the 2017 PokerStars Championship Prague €10,000 High Roller for €449,000 and second in the 2018 partypoker MILLIONS Barcelona Grand Final €50,000 Super High Roller for €600,000. Another Triton Main Event final table came in 2018, this time in Jeju, finishing sixth for $827,106.
He maintained this momentum into 2019, winning the EPT Monte Carlo €100,000 Super High Roller for $1,775,147, the most high-profile victory of his career to date.
Even as the global pandemic pushed play online between 2020 and 2021, Aido remained dominant, finishing seventh in the WSOP Online Lucky 7's High Roller and securing multiple titles in the Aria High Roller series immediately upon the return of live poker in Las Vegas.
When live poker eventually returned, Aido picked up two titles on American soil: the SHRPO Championship in August 2022 for $900,100 and then the WPT Rock 'N' Roll Poker Open $25,000 High Roller title for $500,000. Two weeks later, he won €667,120 after finishing second in a €50,000 NLHE Super High Roller at EPT Prague.
With the prestige of the Triton High Roller increasing, Aido was quickly becoming a Triton regular. In March 2024, Aido won more than $2.5 million in the space of a week on the tour. A pair of runner-up finishes at the Triton Poker Super High Roller Series in Jeju, South Korea, saw Aido walk away with $1,237,804 and $1,353,000.
Aido became a WSOP champion in 2024, in addition to scooping a new career-best prize of $2,026,506. He won Event #39: $50,000 High Roller No-Limit Hold'em, defeating Chance Kornuth heads-up.
Since his bracelet victory, Aido has continued to add high-profile results, including two titles on the PokerGO Tour, and a third-place finish in the 2025 WSOP $50,000 High Roller for $1,242,660. Aido also finished seventh in the $250,000 Triton Invitational at WSOP Paradise in December 2025 for $1,320,000.
