Begins Few Minutes Late, Rules Explained

Level 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

The cards are now in the air following a very important announcement from the Crown Perth staff.

All the government regulated Western Australian rules were explained to the players, with special consideration made to explain the controversial mucking rule which stung Jim Collopy on Day 1a. Basically, regardless of a players intent or what action has occurred, if a player makes any forward motion, with the cards face down, the cards are deemed to be mucked. Check out that link involving Collopy and you will get a better understanding for the strange rule. Unfortunately the PokerStars.net ANZPT staff can not make any decision to override these state gaming regulation rules.

Time for the Final Day 1 of ANZPT Perth

Welcome back to Crown Perth in Western Australia! Today the second stop on Season 6 of the Australia New Zealand Poker Tour begins as a new batch of players take to the felt of the $2,200 buy-in ANZPT Perth Main Event.

Yesterday there were 85 entrants and today there are already around 130 entrants for Day 1b, with registration open for the first two levels of the day. It’s looking very likely that we will break the previous record of 222 players for ANZPT Perth.

The chip leader from Day 1a and the benchmark for the players here on Day 1b is Bernard Beh. He finished the night with 79,850 in chips, while Dale Marsland wasn’t far behind with 75,375.

As on Day 1a, the plan for Day 1b will be to play six 60-minute levels. At that point the surviving players will join the 54 survivors from Day 1a and return to the felt on Friday for Day 2. All the action kicks off at 12:30 p.m. local time.
