High Rollers Event Underway!

Meanwhile the High Rollers Event has kicked off on a nearby table. With a buy-in of PHP250,000 (approx US$5,000) it looks like play will initially start with only one table, although a second table is setup in preparation for any late arrivals.

Some of the starters include David Steicke, Wally Sombero, Bryan Huang and Yasuhiro Waki. We'll be focusing on the Main Event but will try to bring you updates of the High Rollers throughout the evening.

Pacia Eliminated

Lou Pacia - Eliminated
Lou Pacia - Eliminated
Lou Pacia was disappointed to have his all in with pocket fours called by Chi Kan Tang and his pocket queens. That disappointment turned to elation on a flop of {J-Clubs} {4-Clubs} {10-Clubs}. Pacia was still elated on the {3-Spades} turn, and let out a cheer when the river came {2-Clubs} -- not realizing that the board had four-flushed to give Tang a club flush and the winning hand. Once he realized it, he reported to the payout table to collect his winnings for finishing in 24th place.

Marcus Knocks Out Two!

Van Busts Broom
Van Busts Broom
A crazy hand has just seen two players eliminated and Van Marcus collect a monsterous pot.

James Broom opened with a raise from under the gun to 6,000 and found callers in Rudy Lim and June Caberoy, before action was with the short-stacked Takashi Ogura who moved all in from the small blind for 16,000.

Van Marcus was in the big blind and announced yet another raise, this time to 100,000! James Broom quickly moved his entire stack into the middle as Lim and Caberoy stepped aside.

Marcus tabled {10-Hearts}{10-Clubs}, Ogura {A-Clubs}{7-Hearts} but both trailed Broom's {K-Spades}{K-Diamonds}.

An ace was in the window to give Ogura hope, but when it fell {A-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} Marcus had hit a set to leave Ogura in trouble. Meanwhile Broom was shouting for a diamond to give him the flush to double up. The turn and river bricked {8-Clubs},{3-Clubs} and Marcus scooped the pot to send two to the rail! He's now up to over 220,000 chips as Broom and Ogura collect $3,257 for their efforts.
