Greer Guts Guttmann

Michael Guttmann raised to 5,000 from early position, before Norah Greer made it 11,000 to go. Guttmann made the call and we would see a flop.

Flop: {a-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{7-Spades}

Guttmann checked and Greer bet 17,000. Guttmann made the call and the {10-Spades} rolled off on the turn. Guttmann decided to lead this time, making it 40,000 and leaving himself with around 30,000 behind. Greer then moved all in, having Guttmann covered.

Guttman made the call and turned over {a-Hearts}{5-Spades}, while Greer held a dominating {a-Spades}{q-Spades}.

The river would be no help for Guttmann as he was sent to the rail and Greer added to her stack as the last remaining female in the tournament.

Last Level

Level 12 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante

The last level of the evening has just started.

Approximately 46 players remain in the APPT Melbourne Main Event.

Level: 13

Blinds: 1,500/3,000

Ante: 300

Zheng Zooming

Ricky Kroesen opened the pot and was then three-bet by David Allen. Action then came to Jackson Zheng who threw in a four-bet. Kroesen got out of the way and Allen decided a five-bet would be the best way to go. Zheng then six-bet shoved and Allen made the call.

Allen: {a-}{k-}
Zheng: {j-}{j-}

With a board full of meaningless bricks it was elimination time for Allen and a big chip increase for Zheng, who becomes one of the chip leaders.

Good Call Guzzardi

Level 12 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante
Michael Guzzardi
Michael Guzzardi

Matthew Rolfe raised to 5,500 from late position and got a call from Michael Guzzardi in the small blind and a call from Norah Greer in the big blind.

Flop: {6-Spades}{8-Clubs}{6-Hearts}

All the players checked and watched as the {9-Clubs} hit the turn. This time Guzzardi would lead for 8,300 and receive a snap-call from Greer.

The {6-Clubs} would see a check from Guzzardi, which would prompt Greer to bet 18,000.

Guzzardi then went into the tank and eventually called, taking down the pot with his {a-Diamonds}{j-Hearts} besting the {a-Spades}{7-Diamonds} of Greer.

Sixiao Savaged

Li Sixiao gone

We have a new chip leader in the room, after this hand played out just before the break, and it's Phillip Willcocks.

According to the dealer at the table, Li Sixiao raised to 6,000 preflop and managed two callers, including one from Willcocks.

All the action kicked into high gear when the flop turned over {5-Clubs}{8-Spades}{q-Spades}. Sixiao open-shoved and Willcocks instantly called and the players turned their hands over.

Willcocks: {a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}
Sixiao: {k-Spades}{k-Clubs}

The turn and river changed nothing as Willcocks took down the big pot and increased his stack to a monster chip lead.

The End Is Nigh

Level 12 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante

The players are back from their break, with the blind level continuing at 1,200-2,400 for another half an hour before the last level of the evening.

Last Break

Level 12 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante

Only one more level remains on Day 2, with the players sent on their final break of the day.

See you back here in 10 minutes.

Rotar Railed

Sam Rotar moved most of his stack all in preflop against Andrew Scott, with Rotar holding {a-Hearts}{7-Hearts} and leaving himself with only a few thousand behind.

The rest of Rotar's chips inevitably went in on a flop showing {j-Hearts}{7-Spades}{4-Spades}, with Scott holding {a-Spades}{j-Diamonds}.

The turn was the {6-Hearts}, giving Rotar a heart draw, but the {3-Clubs} on the river would be the end of Rotar's tournament life.

Same Hand Hach

Level 12 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante

Jonathan Karamalikis raised to 5,100 from late position and managed a call from Julius Colman on the button and Tony Hachem in the big blind.

Flop: {2-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}

Hachem open-shipped and Karamalikis instantly folded. The action was now on Colman who thought for a few moments before getting rid of his hand.

Hachem took down the pot and tabled his {7-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} and exclaimed, "That's the same hand I lost with at the World Series."

Hachem then asked Colman if he had Hachem beat, to which Colman said that he held ace-three.
