Grigg Not Quite Owned

New chipleader, Tom Grigg
New chipleader, Tom Grigg

"You're about to get owned," were the words that came out of Koray Turker's mouth in the midst of the action in this hand involving Turker and Tom Grigg.

The action started when Koray Turker opened to 1,800 from the hijack. Grigg then raised it to 4,750 and this is when Turker told Grigg he was going to get owned as he popped it to 12,250. Grigg then quickly clicked it back with a min-raise, at which point Turker moved all-in, having Grigg well covered. Grigg snap-called and the players turned their hands over.

Grigg: {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs}
Turker: {a-Clubs}{5-Spades}

The two players continued to banter as the board was dealt out {5-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{k-Spades}{9-Clubs} with no help for Turker and the king on the turn enough to send the massive pot flying Grigg's way.

More Eliminations

Macdonald Scares McDonald

Cameron McDonald started the action with a raise to 1,800 from under the gun. The play was then on Jeremy Macdonald and he called from middle position. Harry Kyriacou was in the big blind and he then moved his short stack in the middle. Before the dealer could even count how much Kyriacou had in his stack McDonald had moved all-in and Macdonald had snap-called.

Kyriacou turned over his {a-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} and was in trouble when Macdonald showed his {a-Spades}{k-Clubs}. McDonald (Cameron, that is) then showed his {k-Hearts}{k-Spades} and must have looked a little uncomfortable as Macdonald asked him, "What are you afraid of?"

Before McDonald could answer the flop showing {a-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{2-Diamonds} was dealt and McDonald pointed towards the board and said, "That!"

With Macdonald having both players covered it would be all over as the turn and river bricked, with top-top good enough for the double knock-out.

The River Wang

Jacky Wang was left crippled early into the first level and managed to build back up to 11,000 in chips before this hand played out.

Wang started the action from under the gun, where he shipped it all-in. The play was sent flying around to Octavian Voegele who re-shipped for 52,000. All the other players were out of the way and Wang tabled his {9-Spades}{9-Diamonds}, crushed by the {k-Spades}{k-Hearts} of Voegele.

By the time a turn card was dealt, the board looked a little something like this {5-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{2-Spades}{7-Clubs} and it was bleak times for Wang.

The {9-Clubs} was the miracle Wang was looking for as he took the much the needed double-up and the unlucky hand saw Voegele stack falter.

Turker Busts Barer

It was all-in preflop for Amichai Barer, with him holding {a-Spades}{8-Spades} and having to go up against the {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds} of Koray Turker.

Board: {6-Clubs}{q-Spades}{j-Spades}{a-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}

The players would both hit their ace, but the two-pair for Turker would be enough to send another pot to him ealry as he becomes the new chipleader.

Hin Hurting Stads

The action started with the all-in shove from under the gun by Erich Stadler and when the action was on Andrew Hinrichsen he would move all in over-the-top. The rest of the players were out of the way and Hinrichen and Stadler would turn their hands over.

Hinrichsen: {10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}
Stadler: {8-Clubs}{8-Spades}

The board ran out {k-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{4-Clubs}{6-Clubs} and with no help for Stadler he was sent out the door as Hinrichsen takes down the nice pot.
