Hu Runs Into a Set

Level 8 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

Jack Hu got involved in yet another hand with a player he had just bet out of a previous pot on a {6-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{Q-Spades} board.

This time, the flop was reading {4-Hearts}{2-Spades}{9-Clubs} and the player in the cutoff bet 6,500, quickly calling a raise to 17,000 by Hu on the button. Both players then checked the {K-Diamonds} turn and Hu raised the opponent's bet from 25,000 to 50,000. The Chinese was called and announced a king, but it was no good against the {2-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} of his opponent.

O'Dwyer Folds the River

Level 8 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

After the {4-Clubs}{J-Spades}{6-Hearts}{2-Clubs} turn, Steve O'Dwyer led for 8,000 out of the big blind and called a raise to 25,000 by the initial raiser before the {J-Clubs} fell on the river. The Irish-American checked and mucked to a bet of 55,000, but is still incredibly deep-stacked at the current stage of the event.

Kampanatsanyakorn Folds the Turn

Level 7 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

With the board spread {J-Spades}{Q-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} and about 25,000 in the middle of the table, the action was checked to Chane Kampanatsanyakorn and he led for 12,000 from the under-the-gun position. His opponent in the small blind check-raised all in for 90,000 and that was for almost the entire stack of the Thai, which resulted in a fold.

Split Pot for Zhu

Level 7 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

The player in the small blind limped and Yaxi Zhu raised to 7,000 from one seat over. There was a call and the opponent of the Chinese also check-called a bet of 10,000 on the {Q-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{4-Diamonds} flop. No betting action took place on the {3-Spades} turn and the {3-Hearts} river provided a bet of 15,000 by the player in the small blind and a call from Zhu with {Q-Clubs}{7-Clubs}.

It was a split pot against {Q-Spades}{8-Diamonds} and they chopped it up.
