Ruan Busts to Li

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Heyu Li raised to 20,000 from under the gun before Zhao Jun Ruan moved all in for his last 99,000 from the button. The blinds folded their hands before Li made the call.

Li: {q-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}
Ruan: {a-Hearts}{k-Spades}

It was smooth sailing for Ruan who kept his advantage after the flop came {10-Hearts}{8-Spades}{5-Hearts}. Unfortunately the {j-Spades} on the turn sent Li into the lead with a pair and Ruan was unable to connect on the {6-Diamonds} river as he was sent to the rail.

Day 1a Chip Leader Eliminated

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Weiyi Zhang got things started with a raise to 18,000 from under the gun plus one. He was called by Zhifeng Yao and Ronald Chun Long Yu from the blinds and the three watched the flop come down {2-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}.

Yao and Yu checked before Zhang threw out a 28,000 continuation bet. Yao then moved all in for 139,000 which was enough to force out Yu. Zhang asked for count before making the call before both players tabled their cards.

Yao: {a-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}

Zhang: {q-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}

Yao was in a commanding position with his ace high and higher flush draw. The {10-Spades} on the turn was no concerm, however, the {9-Clubs} on the river paired up Zhang to reward him the pot.

Fu Slips Further as Tan Doubles

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Nicolas Cardyn opened to 13,000 and was called by two players including Xiaohua Fu on the button. Choon Siang Tan moved all in for 113,000 out of the small blind and Cardyn as well as the cold-caller both mucked their cards. Fu grabbed his last four red T-25,000 chips and tossed them into the middle of the table for a call.

Fu: {K-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}
Tan: {A-Spades}{8-Diamonds}

The {10-Hearts}{8-Spades}{9-Hearts} flop was a sweat for the player at risk, but he remained in the tournament thanks to the {3-Clubs} turn and {A-Hearts} river.

Peng Eliminated In Unlucky Fashion

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

The action folded around to Shen Ming Yin in the small blind who slid out a tower of 5,000-denomination chips enough to cover Dongsheng Peng who was seated in the big blind. He looked down at his cards and made the call.

Yin: {3-Spades}{5-Clubs}

Peng: {k-Spades}{j-Spades}

Yin’s attempt to steal the big blind seamed foolish until the board ran out {9-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{4-Spades}{2-Hearts} to see him complete an unlikely straight on the river to take down the pot.

The extra 125,000 in chips see Yin climb to 524,000 in chips following the hand.

Chan: {6-Clubs}{6-Spades}

Xie: {a-Hearts}{j-Clubs}

Chan’s lead was snatched away from him when the board ran out {a-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{k-Clubs} to see Xie spike an ace on the flop to take down the pot.

Cardyn Continues Heater and Busts Kim

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Fresh off the recent bustout of a short stack, Nicolas Cardyn raised from under the gun and Gab Yong Kim got his short stack in the middle after being moved to the table a few minutes ago. Again Cardyn quickly called and flipped over the very same {A-Hearts}{K-Clubs} while Kim was at risk with {A-Clubs}{9-Clubs}.

The board ran out {Q-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} and that was it for the player from South Korea.
