Yan Chee Yong quickly called the all-in of Florent Remi in a preflop contest to put the Frenchman at risk.
Florent Remi: A♠J♣
Yan Chee Yong: K♠K♦
"Oh, that's easy, you just need one of these," John Perry joked as he pointed towards the ace.
However, there was no easy going on the 10♣10♥4♠Q♣2♣ board for Remi as Yong's kings held up.
Evgenii Nekrasov raised to 2,700 and a shorter stack then pushed for 26,200. Victor Chong in the cutoff asked for an exact count and called with the covering stack before it folded back to Nekrasov. One minute passed and the Russian then folded.
Shorter stack: A♠K♠
Victor Chong: A♥K♥
The A♦5♦3♥ flop had Chong freerolling and he indeed got there with the 2♥ turn as well as the 10♥ river.
Defending champion Alexander Puchalski is already on the second bullet for the day and got it in for around the starting stack with the Q♥Q♠. That had the 8♥8♣ of his opponent crushed but the 7♠6♦5♣ flop was a mighty sweat.
However, the 7♣ turn and A♥ river brought no upset and Puchalski doubled to an above-average stack.
Armon Van Wijk raised from an early position and Yong Cheong Foo three-bet to 7,000 on the button. The Aussie then jammed for 31,800 and Foo went into the tank before making the call.
Armon Van Wijk: A♥5♥
Yong Cheong Foo: 10♣10♦
"Two, three, four," Van Wijk joked, hoping to flop a wheel. He was close with the prediction as it came 10♠3♠2♥. A four or running hearts would save the Aussie but the 9♦ turn and 9♠ river paired the board for the knockout. Fellow countryman Dylan Foster was also eliminated from a nearby table as well.
Level: 9
Blinds: 600/1,200
Ante: 1,200
In a preflop all-in contest, Vishal Ojha was the effective stack as he got it in for 40,100 with the K♠K♦. Laury Vanlerberghe tabled the A♥K♥ and gained some further equity until the Q♥6♠2♦J♣ turn with the broadway draw.
However, the 3♣ river was of no help and the Frenchman dropped below ten blinds. A few minutes later, the seat of Vanlerberghe was open while Ojha had lost a small portion of his stack after the double-up.
Junzhong Loo was all-in with a shorter stack and Xinqiong Xie also committed her last 10,800 as well as both players tabled pocket pairs.
Xinqiong Xie: J♦J♣
Junzhong Loo: Q♥Q♠
The board ran out 10♦6♠3♦7♣J♠ board delivered the two-outer for Xie. Loo was down to a mere 2,800 and those were sent over to Pete Chen right after.
Joshua McCully was all-in for the last 9,700 and Guy Taylor went all-in over the top for more than 25,000, forcing out all other players behind.
Joshua McCully: 9♣7♣
Guy Taylor: K♠K♣
"I wouldn't stand up, I have been running really bad," Taylor said with a very dry voice. However, the A♠J♦9♥3♥A♣ board delivered no sufficient help for McCully and the Aussie High Roller was knocked out.
