Chris Chronis has taken a massive dent to his stack at the hands of Antonio Casale.
Chronis opened 25,000 preflop from under the gun and Casale made the call from the big blind. The flop came and Casale fired out 50,000. Chronis flat called, taking the hand to the turn . Once again Casale led out 50,000 for Chronis to flat call. The river came the and Chronis went into the tank before he flat called Casale's 100,000 chip bet.
Maybe he shouldn't have called. As Casale rolled over for the nut flush, Chronis let fly with a loud four letter expletive formerly banned from the World Series of Poker.
Chronis drops to 765,000. Casale moves up to 610,000.
Sorel Mizzi was dealt pocket tens preflop and probably figured there was no way that he was NOT going to put all of his chips in the middle. He opened for 16,000 from middle position and was called by Francis Ellis and Richard Ashby. The flop was all small cards, . Mizzi followed up his preflop raise with a flop bet of 26,000 that only Ellis called. On the turn , the last 40,000 of Mizzi's chips went in the middle. Ellis called again.

The river blanked out to give Mizzi the pot. He's on 160,000 now. Francis Ellis is down to 240,000.
Ach. David Docherty is out at the hand of Annette Obrestad. Obrestad, the player who crippled Docherty earlier, finished the job by raising from under the gun to 14,000. Docherty moved in for 65,000 from the small blind with and groaned when Obrestad called with .
With chants of "Hearts! Hearts!" coming from media row, the flop came down . There was one heart and a pair of jacks for Docherty. The turn took away his running heart draw. The river took away the rest of his chips.
Docherty got a short round of applause from the railbirds upon his exit. He finished in 31st place and earned AU$30,000. Congratulations, David. You played admirable poker.
Another preflop shove, another player down. Clonie Gowen moved all in preflop for 67,000 from the small blind. Sam Capra was in the big blind and made the call.
Gowen:
Capra:
Gowen took the lead on the flop by pairing her queen, . The turn was a blank, the , but then the crowd gasped because the river was the . It gave Capra a pair of aces and the pot.
A sizable three-way pot developed on Table 14. Stewart Scott opened for a raise to 12,500 from the button. He was called by small blind Zach Fellows and big blind Peter Rho. All three players checked the flop. Both blind players checked to Scott when the turn fell and he decided to fire out for 45,000. Only Rho came along.
At the river , Rho check-called another 50,000-chip bet from Scott. Scott showed a small flush, , but he was outdone by Rho's bigger flush. As a result, Scott slipped down to 940,000 and Rho moved up to 380,000.
Christopher Fullwood has doubled up courtesy of Joe Cassidy.
On a flop of Cassidy led 20,000 and both Fullwood and the player in the small blind made the call. On flop the small blind player checked to Cassidy who bet out 41,000, Fullwood then moved over the top all in for another 125,500. The small blind folded, leaving Cassidy to make the call.
Cassidy flipped over for an up and down straight draw, while Fullwood tabled . Either an or would likely send Fullwood to the rail, but the turn, followed by river, made Fullwood a full house and put the matter beyond doubt.
Fullwood moves up to 400,000. Cassidy has 150,000 left.
We imagine that Dean McIver said "Whoops," to himself after he moved in preflop for 155,000 over the top of Natan Meylakh's open-raise to 16,000 and Meylakh snap-called. "Whoops," would definitely be the correct reaction.
Meylach:
McIver:
McIver wasn't drawing dead by the turn, , but he was drawing about as thin as one can. He missed the river and reported to the cage to collect AU$30,000.
