Guttman Gutted

David Zhao raised preflop to 800 from UTG+1 before Michael 'Sticky' Guttman reraised to 2,500 from the button. Zhou reraised all in for 13,375; Guttman snap-called.

Guttman: {A-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}
Zhao: {K-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}

The flop of {6-Spades}{q-Clubs}{3-Clubs} improved neither hand but the {K-Spades} spiked on the turn, giving Zhao trip kings which held when the river bricked out with the {10-Clubs}.

Another player on the table claimed to have folded the case {k-Clubs}, adding insult to injury for Guttman who is now on just 750 in chips while Zhao zips up the counts with over 27,000 in his stack.

A-head Dean

Dean Nyberg is up to 30,000 after busting a short stack. Nyberg held a dominating {A-Clubs} {Q-Diamonds} against his opponent's {K-Spades} {Q-Clubs} and the brickiest of brickmanlike boards {9-Spades} {2-Spades} {4-Diamonds} {9-Hearts} {6-Spades} helped neither player.

Mizzi Caught

With the board reading {A-Hearts} {Q-Diamonds} {J-Hearts} {J-Diamonds}, Sorel Mizzi check-raised a 2,675 bet to 7,000 but his opponent called.

Mizzi thought long and hard on the {3-Diamonds} river but checked, his opponent checking behind. Mizzi shook his head and said, "I have nine-high." He was shown {A-Spades} {Q-Clubs} by his opponent, the latter raking in the pot.

Mel Judah, Paul Khoury Eliminated

Mel Judah was spotted standing behind Billy "The Croc" Argyros, talking to him in between hands we discovered that he had just been eliminated.

After moving the last of his short stack into the middle holding {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs} and found himself flipping for his tournament life against pocket kings.

Judah managed to take the lead on the flop of {a-?}{8-?}{6-?} but the opponent made a set of kings on the turn to take him out.

We have also received word that Paul "The Voice" Khoury has also been sent to the rail along with Haibo Chu.

Hachem Done

2005 World Champion Joe Hachem has been sent to the rail. The action folded to Hachem in the small blind and he moved his last 4,500 into the middle with {K-?}{Q-?} with Nick Heather making the call in the big blind with {A-?}{J-?}.

The board bricked out and Hachem was eliminated.

Rayan's Rough Run

Rayan Nathan will be a tad disappointed this evening, after a couple of opportunities for a healthy stack went against him in unfortunate circumstances.

Nathan first recalled to us that he lost a 26k pot with ace-king versus ace-queen, before his rather brutal elimination. After calling a re-raise with pocket eights, Nathan flopped a beautiful {9-?}{9-?}{8-?} for a full house. The chips went in with his opponent holding pocket kings, and while the turn was a brick, the river produced another nine, to give his opponent a larger full house, with nines over kings.

JP Picks Off Bluff With Huge Call

Having been sparring with another player for a while, JP Kelly called a raise to 1,100 from the small blind against the cutoff. (There had been a limper but he folded to the raise).

The flop came out {10-?} {7-?} {4-?} and Kelly check-called a bet of 2,000. The turn paired the {4-?} and Kelly again check-called, this time a bet of 6,000.

On the {Q-?} river, Kelly checked a third time and his opponent moved all-in for 13,000.

Kelly made the call with {A-?} {K-?}, beating his opponent's {A-?} {J-?} by a whisker to push his stack over the 50,000 mark.

Benson Takes A Hit

James Broom opened to 750 before Gary Benson popped it up to 2,100. The player in the cutoff then moved all in for 8,425 in total, with Benson the only one to call.

Benson held {J-Clubs}{J-Diamonds} for a small edge over his opponent's {A-Clubs}{K-Spades} but the board fell {K-Hearts}{3-Spades}{9-Spades}{9-Hearts}{7-Hearts}. Benson slips back to 26,000.

Toothpicks Off Another

'Toothpick Tony' back in business
'Toothpick Tony' back in business
The action folded around to the opponent on the button who raised to 1,000, only to see Antonis Kambouroglou reraise to 2,950.

The button shoved over the top for another 6,200; Kambouroglou made the call, tabling {Q-Spades}{q-Diamonds} against the button's {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts}.

The opponent managed to hit the flop of {9-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{k-Spades} and improved to trips when the {k-Diamonds} fell on the turn, however the dealer produced the {Q-Clubs} on the river, giving 'Toothpick Tony' a full house!

"You couldn't fault him moving all in there," said another player as the opponent headed to the exits.

"Of course," Kambouroglou replied as he raked in his chips. 'Toothpick Tony' is now on 25,000.
