The Day 1b flight of the 2010 Crown Aussie Millions Poker Championship Opening Event has come to a close, with 60 players remaining out of the 327 that started today.
Despite losing 30,000 in the last hand of the day, Jim Mastorakos tops our counts with 174,700 in chips, followed by Dean McIver, whose late charge saw him move up to 155,800. Kerry Stead (131,700), Trung Tran (130,100) and Sarvesh Pershad (129,000) round off our top five.
Other notables who will be back for a shot at the first Aussie Millions championship ring include Jimmy Wong (74,400), Ben Savage (71,200), Brendon Rubie (65,200), Dennis Huntly (52,200) and Stephen 'The Big Show' Topakas (27,600).
Three Aussie Millions Main Event champions, Stewart Scott, Tony Bloom and Lee 'Final Table' Nelson, are just two of the big names who could be digging up another AUD $1,100 for tomorrow's repechage, along with Gary Benson, Leo Boxell, Andrew Jeffreys, Julian Powell, Tino Lechich, Marsha Waggoner and Tony Dunst.
However we expect that these big names are going to be running into some familiar faces with equally impressive poker CV's tomorrow - remember, new entries can also be taken as well!
To find out who they might be, join us tomorrow at 12.30pm AEDST for all the action in Day 1c of the Crown Aussie Millions Poker Championship Opening Event - until then, ciao for now!
Jim Mastorakos found himself calling two all-in players on the last hand on his table.
We caught the action just as the cards were tabled and Mastorakos looked in great shape to surpass the 200,000 chip mark:

However the board was spread and Mastorakos was livid. He watched as about 30,000 in chips was cut out of his stack and shipped over - however he can take comfort in the fact that he tops our chip counts with 174,700!
Brendon Rubie is back up to 75,000 in chips after managing to double up through an opponent.
The action folded around to Rubie who raised to 6,500 preflop before the player in the small blind made the call.
The dealer produced a flop that read ; the small blind checked, Rubie shoved for 26,100 and the small blind called, tabling for an overpair but Rubie had robbed him of his lead with for bottom two pair!
Needing any jack for some true justice, the turn and river ran out , to see Rubie double through.
The clock has been paused and tournament director Mike Tarr has just advised the players that three more hands will be dealt before the chips are bagged and tagged.
Jimmy Wong is up to 70,000 in chips after managing to claim a double KO as we approach the halfway mark of the final level of this flight.
An opponent under the gun moved all in for 12,500 before another in middle position re-shoved for 39,000. The action folded around to Wong who called from the big blind.

The board was spread and Wong's eights held up to take the other two players out.
Hugh Cohen has joined his brother Julian on the rail after being busted by Predra Jovanovic.
On a flop that read , Jovanovic check-raised to 13,000 after Cohen opened for 5,500. Jovanovic then open-shoved on the turn of the ; Cohen made the call.

Only a miracle would save Cohen, but the river delivered the killer blow on top of the mortal wound.
Cohen is cast away while Jovanovic moves up to 95,000 in chips.
