Nelson: have chips, will travel
Nelson: have chips, will travel
2006 Aussie Millions Main Event champion Lee "Final Table" Nelson is back in business after managing to take down a pot to move up to 31,000 in chips.

Nelson and another opponent went heads-up into a flop of {q-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{6-Hearts}. The opponent led out for 1,800, Nelson raised to 5,400 and the opponent flat-called, then check-mucked after Nelson shoved his last 15,000 into the middle on the turn of the {7-Hearts}.

It's Hip to be "gsqwared"

PokerNews Live Reporting head honcho Garry Gates now has a stranglehold over this field, sitting on 73,000 in chips after eliminating another opponent.

The action folded around to Gates who raised to 1,500 from the button. The small blind folded but the big blind reraised to 4,700.

Gates moved all-in and the opponent insta-called, tabling {q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}, however Gates tabled {k-Spades}{k-Clubs} to be miles ahead.

The board was spread {9-?}{10-?}{5-?}{k-Hearts}{9-?}, sending the opponent packing and the bloggers are now arguing amongst themselves as to who should buy a piece of Gates' action.

Nedanovski Doubles Up

In a hand just after play resumed, Kris Nedanovski moved his last 5,100 into the middle holding {a-Hearts}{6-Hearts} but found himself in strife against an opponent's {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}

However Nedanovski would double through to over 10,000 in chips when the board was spread {7-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{q-Spades} - sometimes it's better to be lucky than smart!

Shinzaki Gets Creative

Just prior to the break, Michael Shinzaki raised it up preflop to 1,000 from under the gun, before deliberating for several minutes when a short-stacked player moved all in for his last 3,700. He finally made a crying call and the cards were flipped.

Shinzaki: {5-Spades}{6-Spades}
Opponent: {A-Clubs}{K-Hearts}

Shinzaki would need some help and it arrived when the board was spread {6-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} giving him two pair and the pot.

Shinzaki moves up to 25,000 chips.

Can't Keep Up With The Jones'

Iwan Jones has been knocked out after raising all-in on a three-way flop of {K-Clubs} {6-Clubs} {7-Diamonds}. The first player sighed and folded, but the bettor behind him called with {K-Spades} {J-Diamonds}. Jones showed {A-Clubs} {10-Clubs} but missed on the {3-Hearts} turn and {K-Diamonds} river.
