One For Carwash

"Carwash" George Cotaidis opened to 1,700 from middle position and Brent Thomas made the call on the button to see a heads-up flop of {K-Spades}{9-Clubs}{9-Spades}.

Both players checked and the free card on the turn was the {5-Hearts}. Cotaidis fired out 2,000 and Thomas made the call.

The river brought the {6-Diamonds} and Cotaidis checked to Thomas who released 4,500 but Cotaidis quickly called. Thomas flipped {2-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} but Cotaidis took it down with {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}.

Cotaidis clapped his hands in delight as he climbs to 24,000 with Thomas slipping to 42,000.

Feng Jiang Gets Served

The action folded around to Feng Jiang who completed from the small blind, only to see Bruno Portaro raise from the big blind to 1,000.

"Are you sure?" asked Jiang in an attempt to put him off. No reaction - so Jiang called and they saw a flop of {3-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}.

Portaro open-shoved for 10,000.

"Do you want me to call?" asked Jiang. No reaction - so Jiang called, tabling {J-Clubs}{8-Hearts} and grinning like a cat that caught the canary.

His face turned white when Portaro calmly revealed {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs}.

The turn and river ran out {2-Clubs},{9-Clubs} and Portaro doubled up, leaving Jiang with a handful of chips which he moved into the middle a short time later with {a-Spades}{7-Spades}.

James Tai called from the button, taking a punt with {8-Hearts}{6-Hearts} and it paid off, silencing Jiang forever when the board was spread {6-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{q-Spades}{7-?}{5-?}.

A lesson in humility from the school of hard knocks.

Let's Stick Together...

It's become a bit of a predicament on Table 59. We've just played about six levels and they have not lost a single player so far. "Have you ever heard anything like it?" asked Iwan Jones, "our table is going to break and we'll all be short stacks elsewhere..."

Scott Stacks Another

Stewart Scott gets a scalp
Stewart Scott gets a scalp
A player in middle position raised all in for 825 before the flop and the action folded around to Stewart Scott who iso-shoved for 10,800. The others got out of the way as the cards were tabled.

Scott: {a-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}
Opponent: {10-Spades}{5-Spades}

The flop of {6-Spades}{7-Spades}{2-Clubs} gave the player some hope with a flush draw but Scott’s ace-high was ahead and stayed there when the turn and river ran out {q-Clubs},{k-Hearts}.

Another one bites the dust and Scott moves up to 13,000 in chips.

Stavropoulos Leads

Manny Stavropoulos holds one of the biggest stacks in the room, thanks to another sizable pot heading in his direction.

Stavropolous held {K-Diamonds}{K-Spades} against his opponent's {A-Spades}{K-Clubs} with all the chips in preflop, and was happy to see the board run out {3-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{5-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{8-Spades}.

Stavropoulos now sits with 62,000 chips.

Broom: {7-Spades}{7-Diamonds}
Mann: {A-Spades}{9-Clubs}

The turn was the {6-Clubs} and river the {Q-Clubs} and Broom hits the rail as Mann moves up to 22,000 chips.
