Crown Aussie Millions Celebrity Challenge

Before the poker world descended upon Melbourne for the Crown Aussie Millions Poker Championship Main Event (and of course, today's No Limit Hold'em Six Handed Event), the glitterati got their chance to take to the felt in the Celebrity Challenge.

All the stars came out to shine and Lynn Gilmartin was there to catch the action:

Level: 7

Blinds: 200/400

Ante: 50

Dunst Loses a Pot

The action folded around to Tony 'bond18' Dunst who raised to 800 from the button. The opponent in the big blind called, so it was heads-up to a flop that read {6-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{5-Spades}.

The big blind checked, Dunst led out for 1,200 and the big blind called, then checked to Dunst on the turn of the {2-Diamonds}.

Dunst fired out 2,800, the big blind smooth-called again, then the dealer revealed the river of the {7-Diamonds}.

The big blind checked, Dunst led out for 4,250 and the opponent called; Dunst showed down {q-Hearts}{9-Spades} but the big blind player showed {4-Diamonds}{3-Spades} for the straight.

Dunst is down to 36,000 in chips.

Sam Weir Spears Kristensen

The money was all in the middle preflop between Sam Weir and Jens Carl Kristensen and we got there as the cards were revealed:

Weir: {6-Hearts}{6-Clubs}
Kristensen: {5-Hearts}{5-Clubs}

The board ran out {9-Clubs}{9-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{q-Spades} and Kristensen was sent to the rail, leaving Weir with a stack worth 57,800.

This Ain't Manila!

Ian Jennis moved all in from the button before the flop with {q-Hearts}{q-Clubs} and found himself well ahead of his opponent's {j-Spades}{10-Spades}.

The board was spread {a-Clubs}{q-Spades}{6-Spades}{7-Hearts}{a-Spades} to give Jennis the full house, but it was Jennis that was walking off, thinking he had been eliminated by the flush!

"Dude, come back, you won the pot!" said another player. Jennis walked back, realised his mistake after taking a second look at the board, then sheepishly sat back down to stack up the 14,000 chips that had been pushed towards his seat.

Brkovic Doubles Up

Alex Brkovic got the last of his money into the middle holding {k-Hearts}{2-Hearts} and was called down by an opponent who tabled {q-Hearts}{j-Hearts}.

The dealer spread the board of {10-Hearts}{a-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{2-Spades} and Brkovic is back up to 15,200 in chips.

Margets Charges

Leo Margets continues to move up the counts, now on 39,000 in chips after taking down a big pot against another opponent.

Margets led out for 1,100 on a flop that read {q-Spades}{2-Spades}{10-Spades} and the opponent called before the turn of the {q-Diamonds} was revealed.

Margets fired out 2,100, the opponent called and the {7-Hearts} came out on the river, where Margets led out for 4,000.

The opponent raised all-in and Margets called, showing down {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} for a full house. The opponent threw his hand away.

Dunst Dominates

We caught the action on a board that read {7-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{q-Spades} between Tony Dunst and Aleks Brkovic.

Brkovic led out for 750 on the turn and Dunst called before the dealer turned up the river {4-Spades}; Brkovic fired out 1,900 and Dunst called again.

Brkovic rolled up {k-Spades}{j-Clubs} for air and Dunst tabled {3-Spades}{3-Hearts} which was good enough to take the pot down.

Dunst has now moved up to 50,000 in chips while Brkovic is on life support with 9,000 in chips.
