'SirWatts' Loses Chips

Mike 'SirWatts' Watson and an opponent in early position were heads-up into a flop that read {9-Clubs}{k-Spades}{k-Hearts}; the early position player checked to Watson who led out for 1,000.

The opponent then check-raised to 3,500 and Watson called. Watson then called the opponent's bet of 4,500 on the turn of the {j-Clubs} and the bet of 8,000 on the river {2-Spades}.

The opponent tabled {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs} for trips and Watson mucked.

Watson is down to 14,300 in chips.

Cabret Beats Kristensen's Set

Joe Cabret raised to 600 from under the gun and the action folded around to Jens Carl Kristensen who called from the big blind to go heads-up to a flop of {3-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{8-Hearts}.

Kristensen led out for 1,100, Cabret raised to 3,100, Kristensen snap-shoved and Cabret double-fist-pump-snap-called.

Cabret: {8-Spades}{8-Diamonds}
Kristensen: {k-Diamonds}{3-Spades}

There was no case trey suckout as the turn and river bricked out {q-Spades}, {2-Clubs}, sending Cabret's stack to 20,800, while Kristensen slips to 13,300.

Khalil Hits The Cash Tables

After making a flying visit down from Sydney to Melbourne just for the weekend, Australian poker cult hero Ali Khalil has unfortunately been eliminated from today's event.

Khalil recalled to us that he was crippled in a big pot with {K-?}{j-?} against {A-?}{K-?} on a board of {A-?}{K-?}{4-?}{K-?}{4-?}. He followed that up by taking his short stack into battle with pocket queens but his opponent made a flush with {9-Clubs}{10-Clubs}.

Khalil then recalled to us that following his elimination he sat straight into a $10/$20 Omaha cash game and found double-suited aces first hand. "Pot," announced Khalil, much to the confusion of the rest of the table who explained to Khalil that he had sat into a Limit game. One hand and $300 lost, and Khalil is now on the Hold'em waiting list!

Iwan Jones Chips Up

Iwan Jones and another opponent on the button ended up with their money in the middle preflop and we got there to see the cards being tabled:

Jones: {a-Spades}{k-Spades}
Button: {a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}

Though there was a good chance of a chop, Jones took the pot down after the dealer spread the board of {4-Spades}{6-Hearts}{2-Spades}{7-Spades}{4-Clubs} to send his opponent to the rail!

Jones is up to 34,000 in chips after that hand.

Nelson Chops One

Lee Nelson was looking good to collect a big pot and eliminate an opponent when the chips were in the middle preflop with Nelson's {A-Diamonds}{K-Hearts} dominating his opponent's {A-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}

However the board was spread {4-Spades}{10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{6-Clubs} putting two pair on board, leaving each to play their ace kicker. Chop it up!

Neilson Doubles

Daniel Neilson pushed the last of his money into the middle holding {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} on a flop that read {a-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} and found himself dominating his opponent's {a-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}.

Neilson then sealed the deal with the {10-Spades} on the turn for quads! The river {6-Diamonds} was merely there for show.

Neilson is back up to 12,500 in chips.

LOL Drunkaments

Hachem (during Event 1): not a happy camper
Hachem (during Event 1): not a happy camper
Kieron Olm-Milligan is not making any friends fast, tilting the rest of the table with his drunken antics and in the process eliminating Tony Hachem.

Olm-Milligan looked in trouble after looking a chunk of his chips to Jens Carl Kristensen - on a board that read {q-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}{2-Hearts}, Kristensen led out for 2,000 into Olm-Milligan on the river.

Olm-Milligan picked up his cards and slurred, "Oh, I'm playing the board." However this didn't stop him putting out a raise to 8,000.

Kristensen snap-shoved and Olm-Milligan snap-called.

Kristensen: {k-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}
Olm-Milligan: {5-?}{3-?}

"Looks like you're buying the next round," Olm-Milligan said, causing a few giggles to ripple around the table.

Moments later, they weren't laughing at all, especially Hachem, who got his money in good preflop with {q-Spades}{q-Hearts} against Olm-Milligan's {k-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}.

However the board was spread {3-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} to give Olm-Milligan a runner-runner flush and send an irate Hachem to the rail.
