Crifo Crippled, Cast Out

Rob Crifo was in a world of hurt after Jim Sachinidis' {j-Spades}{j-Clubs} flopped a set on a board that read {a-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{4-Clubs} and in the very next hand he was taken out by Steve Krmpotic.

Crifo was forced all in on the big blind and he could only watch as Sachinidis and Krmpotic have at it.

Sachinidis raised preflop, Krmpotic reraised and Sachinidis called. Both players checked the flop of {a-Hearts}{7-Spades}{8-Hearts}, then Sachinidis check-called Krmpotic's bet on the turn of the {10-Spades} before both players checked the river {q-Diamonds}.

Sachinidis turned up {10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} for a turned set; Krmpotic revealed {9-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} for a busted straight draw and Crifo mucked.

We are now down to ten players - all of them have merged onto one table and we are only one spot away from the "final" final table and the money!

Ciao, Zhao

David Zhao has just been eliminated from the tournament in 12th place by Josh Wilson.

Zhao opened the pot with a raise from the hijack position and when the action reached Wilson on the button, he three-bet. Both blinds folded, sending the action back to Zhao who four-bet all in for a total of 5,700. Wilson made the call holding {A-Spades}{A-Clubs} and Zhao was in super bad shape with a pocket pair of fives.

The ensuing board filled out {Q-Hearts}{6-Spades}{7-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{Q-Spades} and Wilson's aces held to eliminate Zhao from the tournament.

Blatt = Busto

We caught up to the hand on the flop with the board showing {9-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}. Dean Blatt bet, Steve Krmpotic raised and Michael Dix flat called. Blatt called as well, sending the hand three-way to the turn -- {A-Diamonds}.

Here, Blatt passed the first action to Krmpotic, who fired another bullet. Dix folded, but Blatt made the call for less and was all in:

Blatt: {Q-Spades}{9-Clubs}
Krmpotic: {A-Spades}{9-Diamonds}

The river brought an inconsequential {A-Clubs} and Krmpotic took down the pot with aces full, improving to 48,000 in chips in the process.

Rising Steadily

Kerry Stead has moved back up to 29,000 after managing to secure some some chips from Amit Sheth.

Stead led out on the flop of {7-Spades}{10-Hearts}{4-Clubs} and on the turn of the {k-Spades}, with Sheth calling him each time before both players checked the river {9-Clubs}.

Stead rolled up {q-Spades}{q-Diamonds} and Sheth mucked his hand, giving him the pot.

Blatt Scores Some Back

Just as Dean Blatt was looking as if he was headed to the rail, he managed to catch a crucial double up through Steve Krmpotic after managing to win the flip holding {a-Diamonds}{q-Hearts} against Krmpotic's {4-Spades}{4-Hearts} on a board that was spread {5-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{9-Spades}{a-Clubs}.

Blatt is back up to 11,000 while Krmpotic is down to 17,000.

Crifo Doubles Through Blatt

Dean Blatt raised preflop and the action folded around to Rob Crifo who reraised all-in. Blatt called, showing {k-Clubs}{q-Clubs} and was ahead of Crifo's {j-Diamonds}{10-Spades}.

Crifo took the lead on the flop of{10-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{a-Spades} but needed to dodge a whole lotta paint to stay alive.

The turn and river bricked out {5-Diamonds},{6-Diamonds} and Crifo doubled up to 10,000; Blatt is down to just 8,500.

Stead Doubles Up

Jan Suchanek
Jan Suchanek
The action folded around to Kerry Stead who raised from the hijack position before Jan Suchanek called from the big blind.

Suchanek then check-called Stead all the way down the board of {a-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}; Stead was all-in on the river but his {q-Clubs}{9-Clubs} was good enough was good enough to take the pot away from Suchanek.

Stead is up to 15,500 while Suchanek is down to 75,000.

Suchanek Moves to the Top of the Leaderboard

David Zhao opened the pot with a raise from under-the-gun and Jan Suchanek, next to act, three-bet. Action then folded around the table to Jim Sachinidis in the big blind who reluctantly folded, sending the action back around to Zhao who made the call, opting to play the hand heads-up against Suchanek.

Zhao then check-called bets from Suchanek on every street as the board filled out {8-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{3-Spades}{10-Hearts} and at the showdown, Suchanek tabled a pocket pair of aces.

"I can beat ace king," said Zhao in defeat.

Suchanek stacked up 83,000 in chips after the hand, while Zhao dropped down to 26,000.

Dix Chips Up

Michael Dix: likes chips
Michael Dix: likes chips
Steve Krmpotic, Michael Dix and Rob Crifo all called Dean Blatt's preflop raise to go four ways into a flop of {a-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{7-Hearts}, which they all checked.

On the turn of the {5-Hearts}, Blatt and Krmpotic checked before Dix opened for 2,400. Crifo folded, Blatt called and Krmpotic mucked before the dealer revealed the {7-Diamonds} on the river.

Blatt check-called Dix's bet, but threw his hand away when Dix showed {5-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} for the full house. Dix is up to 33,000 while Blatt is reduced to 13,000 in chips.
