Yes, Durrrr Shows the Six-Trey on the River and It's Good

With about 2,750 in the pot already and the board reading {a-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{k-Hearts} when we wandered over to the table of death, Tom "Durrrr" Dwan tossed out a bet of 1,925. Billy "The Croc" Argyros thought things over while muttering under his breath a bit. Finally he said, "ace-three or ace-five Tom, and made the call."

The {a-Spades} on the river created even more drama, and Dwan counted down his chips, putting together different combinations in his hands before very silently checking over to Argyros.

"The Croc," who is wearing a full on crocodile hat today, darted all four of his eyes to Dwan; his two human eyes and his two crocodile eyes, before sheepishly checking behind.

Dwan flipped over the {3-Clubs} and then the {6-Spades}, and Argyros could do nothing but shake his head in disbelief. He let out a "sick" before mucking his cards, prompting the dealer to slide the pot over to Dwan who is back over the starting stack with about 23,000.

Harman Doubles Up

As our PokerNews reporters made the rounds, one of them was stopped by local player Damian Harman who advised us he has just doubled up to 42,000 after eliminating an opponent.

Harman, an accountant from the northern Melbourne suburb of Sunbury, moved all in on a flop of {k-?}{7-?}{4-?} with pocket aces and was called by his short-stacked opponent who tabled {a-?}{k-?}.

The turn and the river bricked, sending the opponent to the rail and doubling Harman's stack, which should help considering he's sitting on table 50 alongside Hendon Mobster Barny Boatman and Dan Shak!

Chronis Gets Creative

Chris Chronis made it 200 from under the gun, with [Removed:505] making the call, before a player in middle position popped it to 700. Both Chronis and Kinkade made the call to see a flop of {7-Clubs}{A-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}.

Action checked around and the {Q-Hearts} fell on the turn. Chronis fired 2,100 forcing a fold from Kinkade but the third player made the call as the {J-Hearts} fell on the river.

Chronis fired again for 3,600 and his opponent tanked and made the call with {K-Clubs}{Q-Spades} which was good as Chronis tabled {J-Spades}{8-Spades}. Chronis slips to 18,500 chips.

Cobra Cabret

Joe Cabret just won a small battle against Team PokerStars Pro Barry Greenstein to creep back up to 17,000 in chips.

Greenstein opened the pot with a raise to 300 from the cutoff and Cabret made the call from the big blind. The flop came {A-Clubs}{10-Spades}{4-?} rainbow and Cabret check-called a 400 continuation bet from Greenstein.

The {7-Spades} fell on the turn and Cabret checked once more, allowing Greenstein to fire another bullet - this time for 600. Cabret then check-raised to 1,600 and Greenstein folded, surrendering the hand to Cabret.

"Bear" dropped down to 18,000 in chips in the loss.

Out of the Woods!

Woods (during Opening Event): swingin'
Woods (during Opening Event): swingin'
Barry Woods raised before the flop to 375 and the action folded around to an opponent in the small blind who made the call to go heads-up to a flop of {2-Hearts}{2-Spades}{7-Spades}.

The small blind check-called Woods' bet of 650 and the dealer produced the {a-Diamonds} on the turn. The small blind checked to Woods who fired out 1,225, but then check-raised to 3,100.

Woods looked surprised. He took off his earphones and went deep into the tank. After three minutes had past, he leaned over to his adversary and asked, "Want me to call or fold?"

"Do what you want to do," the small blind player replied.

Woods let his hand go and was left with 23,500, but only moments later he moved back up to 36,400 in chips after making the nut flush on the river with {a-Clubs}{8-Clubs} against an opponent's {k-?}{q-?}.

Rubie Gets One

From under the gun, Julian Cohen made it 300 to go. Brendon Rubie on the button made it 800 and Cohen made the call.

The {3-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} flop prompted Cohen to check-call Rubie's bet of 800.

On the {5-Diamonds} turn, Cohen fired out 1,200, to which Rubie made it 3,000.

The {8-Hearts} fell on the river and Cohen made it 3,000. Rubie thought about it for a second before making the call.

He flipped over {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs} to rake in the pot, besting his opponents {q-?}{q-?}.

Rubie is up to 28,000 and Cohen is at 11,000.

Durrrr'd

The player on the button made a raise to 325 and Tom "durrrr" Dwan made the call in the big blind to see a flop of {10-Spades}{8-Spades}{8-Diamonds}.

Dwan checked and the button-player fired a bet of 500. Dwan check-raised to 1,750 and his opponent made it 5,000. Dwan moved all in and his opponent made the call.

Dwan: {8-Hearts}{4-Hearts}
Button: {J-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}

The player on the button was hardly impressed as the turn and river landed {q-Spades}, {7-Clubs} and Dwan doubled up to his start stack of 20,000.

Khouite a Bad Start

Australian pro Sam Khouiss is down to 7,100 in chips early after running into an opponent's full house.

Khouiss opened the pot with a raise to 300 from the hijack and was called by opponents in the cutoff and small blind.

The flop came down {K-Spades}{7-Hearts}{5-Spades} and the action was checked to Khouiss who led out with another 300 bet. The player in the cutoff folded, but the small blind stuck around for the turn, which brought the {4-Diamonds}.

On 4th Street, Khouiss' opponent led out with a 3,000 bet and Khouiss made the call. The last card off the deck was the {4-Hearts} and this time, Khouiss' opponent fired a bigtime bet of 10,000. Khouiss made the call, only to see his nemesis turn over a pocket pair of sevens for a full house and Khouiss mucked.

Saab On Song

The Mouth From The South
The Mouth From The South
David Saab is off to a good start this afternoon. The "Mouth from the South" picked up 5,000 on the very first hand of the day and hasn't slowed down.

In a recent hand, Saab opened to 250 and was called by Sam Korman and Kenneth Damm in position to see a flop of {4-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}.

Play was checked around and the {6-Diamonds} hit the turn. It was checked to Damm who took a stab with a bet of 550, but both opponents made the call.

The river brought the {4-Spades} and again play checked to Damm, who fired another barrel worth 1,250. Saab made the call as Korman stepped aside.

"You win," sighed Damm.

"Open your hand!" demanded Saab.

Damm obliged and showed {9-Clubs}{7-Spades} for a busted straight draw as Saab tabled {A-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} for just ace-high to take down the pot as Korman cringed at folding the best hand.

Damm slips to 18,000 with Saab jumping to 30,000.
