Hansen Pushes Quoss Away

Level 3 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante

The flop read {J-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} when Fabian Quoss checked from the big blind to Gus Hansen. Hansen bet 6,300 and Quoss check-raised to 18,000. Hansen went into the tank for a bit before moving all in.

Quoss quickly folded and Hansen picked up the pot.

Reinkemeier Coolers Esfandiari

Level 3 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante

We just caught Tobias Reinkemeier's double up versus One Drop winner Antonio Esfandiari. The board read {4-Clubs}{9-Spades}{5-Spades}{5-Clubs} and Reinkemeier bet 42,000 from the under-the-gun-plus-one position. Esfandiari was seated in the cutoff and he made the call.

The river brought the {7-Hearts} and Reinkemeier bet 58,000. Esfandiari went into the tank for a bit before moving all in.

Reinkemeier tanked for about 15 seconds before he announced, "Call."

Esfandiari turned over {5-Hearts}{6-Hearts} but that wasn't enough against Reinkemeier's {4-Spades}{4-Hearts}.

Phua Busts, Then Re-Enters

Level 2 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Gus Hansen, Paul Phua and Erik Seidel checked the {9-Spades}{8-Clubs}{4-Clubs} flop to see the {2-Spades} land on the turn. After Hansen checked, Phua bet all in for 23,300. Seidel called, and Hansen folded.

Seidel tabled the {6-Spades}{6-Hearts}, and Phua held the {7-Spades}{5-Spades}.

The river completed the board with the {J-Hearts}, and Phua was eliminated. His elimination only lasted a minute, though, as he hopped right back in with a rebuy and drew the same exact seat.

Everyone Sees the Flop

Level 2 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

To start this hand, Sam Trickett put in 1,500 from the under-the-gun-plus-one position. Problem was, Tony Bloom was first to act. The other problem was that Trickett meant to raise to 6,000, but had mistaken a T500 chip for a T5,000 chip. The table got a nice little laugh out of Trickett's mistakes, while Bloom made the call.

It was ruled that Trickett could only just call, and he put in the 2,000 total to do so. Then, Igor Kurganov called from the cutoff seat, Tobias Reinkemeier called from the button, Andrew Robl called from the small blind, and Antonio Esfandiari checked his option in the big blind.

The flop came down {9-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{5-Spades}, and action checked to Bloom. He bet 7,500, and Trickett raised to 20,500. Everyone including Bloom folded, and Trickett won the pot.

Yong Takes One From Hansen

Level 2 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

The flop read {10-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} when Richard Yong checked to Gus Hansen who fired out 5,600. Yong went into the tank for quite some time and Paul Phua wanted to seize the moment for a bathroom run.

As Phua was leaving the room Yong decided to call. Phua came running back to the table to see if Yong either called or folded. Phua was sitting on a short stack and did not want to miss any chance to double up.

"You have to think longer!" Phua jokingly said to Yong who had indeed made the call. Phua was safe to leave while Hansen burst out in laughter over the comment Phua made.

The turn brought the {8-Spades} and Yong checked to Hansen who chuckled as he bet 16,600. Yong had the amount confirmed before he made the call once more.

The river brought the {2-Hearts} and Yong checked again. Hansen put together a bet worth 36,600 and Yong quickly made the call.

"I don't think I win," Hansen said right before Yong turned over {10-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}.

"Nice hand," the Great Dane added as he threw his cards towards the muck. Yong is still down for the day but almost back up to the starting stack.

Bloom's Getting The Best of Trickett

Level 2 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

A long night lies ahead, but so far Tony Bloom is getting the best of Sam Trickett. Bloom is enjoying a massage while he just raised Trickett on a {8-Spades}{4-Spades}{7-Spades} flop. Trickett had put out a bet worth 8,500 and Bloom raised it up to 28,500. That was enough to take it down.

On the next hand Bloom raised from the button to 5,300 and Trickett called from the small blind. The flop came down {Q-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} and Trickett check-called 7,200.

The turn brought out the {5-Clubs} and this time Trickett check-called 15,100. On the river the {K-Hearts} appeared and both players checked. Bloom showed {K-Spades}{7-Spades} for two pair and raked in the pot.

Hansen Flops the World; Phua Doubles

Level 2 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

From early position, Gus Hansen raised to 4,500. Paul Phua reraised all in for 14,900, and action folded back to Hansen. He gave it some thought, commented, "Oh man, what did I get myself into?" then called.

Hansen tabled the {8-Hearts}{6-Hearts} and was up against the {K-Diamonds}{Q-Spades} for the at-risk Phua.

The flop came down {J-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{7-Hearts} to give Hansen a world of outs, but he failed to hit after the {J-Clubs} turn and {K-Clubs} river.

Head-On Collision Between Phua and Quoss

Level 2 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

It. Is. On.

That's the best way to describe the early action here in the Teak Salon at Crown. Paul Phua and Fabian Quoss just clashed in a massive pot which launched the German to the top of the leader board.

The action started with Phua, who raised it up to 2,300 from the hijack. Richard Yong three-bet from the button to 5,300, and Quoss called from the big blind. Phua tossed in the extra chips as well, and the flop brought out the {4-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{3-Diamonds}.

Quoss and Phua checked to Yong who quickly bet 11,000. Quoss made the call, and that put the control in Phua's hands. He counted out some chips and raised it up to 41,000. Yong didn't hesitate too long and made the call.

The action was now back on Quoss, who went into the tank for about two minutes.

"I'm all in," the German eventually uttered.

Quoss' shove was for a total of 189,200 more, on top of Phua's raise. Phua tanked for a couple of minutes and then called it off. Yong snap-folded, and it was time for the first all-in showdown of the night.

Fabian Quoss: {3-Spades}{3-Hearts}
Paul Phua: {A-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}

"Gotta call right?" Phua smiled as he looked over to Philipp Gruissem who nodded silently.

The board ran out {9-Clubs}, {9-Hearts}, and Quoss doubled up. Phua was left with just 14,000 chips and got up from his seat to smoke a cigarette.

"Can I rebuy now?" Phua asked to the table and dealer when he sat back down. The players explained that he had to lose all his chips first before being able to receive another full stack.

We all know what this means, it's gamble time for Phua who's looking to stay in this tournament a whole lot longer.
