Hachem Takes a Hit

Level 5 : 200/400, 50 ante

Max Greenwood raised to 1,100 from under the gun, Anthony Hachem called in the hijack seat, and the rest of the players folded.

Greenwood slowed down, check-calling a bet of 1,650 from Hachem on a flop of {q-Spades}{4-Hearts}{j-Hearts}. The turn was a repeat queen - the {q-Diamonds} - and Greenwood check-called another 3,675. The {2-Clubs} completed the board, both players checked, and Greenwood showed {a-Hearts}{j-Spades} for queens and jacks.

Hachem mucked his hand.

Haxton Getting Shorter

Level 5 : 200/400, 50 ante

A player opened to 900 on the button, Isaac Haxton defended his big blind, and the flop fell {4-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{j-Hearts}. Both players checked.

Haxton led out for 2,500 after the {7-Diamonds} turned, the player raised to 6,000, and Haxton went deep into the tank. The Team PokerStars Online member eventually folded his hand, leaving himself with only 9,000 chips.

Schemion Can't Get by Brkovic

Level 5 : 200/400, 50 ante
Ole Schemion
Ole Schemion

Aleks Brkovic opened for 800 from middle position and received a call from the cutoff. Young German superstar Ole Schemion came along from the big blind and three players took a flop of {5-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}.

Schemion checked, Brkovic continuation-bet for 1,450, and the cutoff folded. Schemion made the call and then opted to lead out for 4,600 after the dealer burned and turned the {9-Diamonds}. Brkovic thought for a moment before making the call, and the {4-Spades} completed the board on the river.

Schemion stared at the board for around 20 seconds and then dropped in a bet of 7,500. Brkovic took his time before making a call, which was for the majority of his stack. Schemion tabled the {q-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} for queen high, but it was no good as Brkovic had made a nice call with the {a-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}.

Level 5 : 200/400, 50 ante

From early position, Brian Kim raised to 900. The only customer came from the player in the big blind making the call, and the flop came down {Q-Clubs}{9-Spades}{4-Diamonds}. After the big blind checked, Kim checked behind.

The turn was the {J-Hearts}, and the big blind led with a bet of 1,075. Kim called. Then, the {9-Diamonds} completed the board on the river. The big blind fired 2,500, and Kim tank-folded.

Two Pair > One Pair

Level 5 : 200/400, 50 ante

Anita Le, Jeff Hakim, and two other players were competing for a pot on a board of {j-Hearts}{a-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{9-Spades}. The action checked to Le, who tossed out 1,800, and only Hakim called.

The {7-Clubs} completed the board, both players checked, and Le showed {k-Spades}{j-Spades} for a pair of jacks. Hakim had her pipped with {j-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} for jacks and nines, picking up the pot.

Quoss Busts

Level 5 : 200/400, 50 ante

Fabian Quoss raised to 1,200 from under the gun, leaving just 500 behind, and the action folded to a player in the small blind who three-bet to 3,000. The player in the big blind folded, and Quoss called all-in.

Quoss: {10-Hearts}{9-Hearts}
Opponent: {7-Diamonds}{7-Spades}

The flop fell {3-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{q-Clubs}, giving Quoss a flush draw, but the turn and river bricked {a-Clubs}, {j-Diamonds} respectively, sending the German to the rail.

Warne Sends One to the Rail

Level 5 : 200/400, 50 ante

An all-in preflop confrontation saw Shane Warne send a short stack to the rail. The short stack actually got it in good holding {8-}{8-}, but he was flipping against Warne's {k-Hearts}{q-Hearts}. The {9-Clubs}{a-Clubs}{k-Diamonds} flop gave Warne the lead with a pair of kings, and he stayed there as the {2-Hearts} blanked on the turn followed by the {Q-Diamonds} on the river.

Pickering Hits a King

Level 5 : 200/400, 50 ante

Jamie Pickering was all in and at risk with {k-Clubs}{6-Clubs} on a flop of {2-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{5-Hearts}, and his opponent showed {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}. The {7-Hearts} on the turn gave Pickering an open-ended straight draw, and the {k-Diamonds} spiked on the river to give him a winning pair of kings.

Evidently Pickering was more focused on his two draws, however, because he didn't immediately realize that he rivered a pair of kings. He went from confused to delighted when the pot was pushed in front of him, and he doubled to 27,000 chips.

Krings' Kings Cripple Quoss

Level 5 : 200/400, 50 ante

A player opened to 1,000 from under the gun, a player in middle position called, Craig McCorkell called on the button, and Fabian Quoss re-raised to 3,000 out of the small blind. Brendan Krings called in the big blind cold-called out of the big blind, the three other players called, and the flop fell {2-Clubs}{10-Spades}{3-Clubs}.

Quoss checked, Krings bet 6,000, and the action folded back to Quoss. He moved all in for 13,000, and the Krings called.

Quoss: {j-Spades}{j-Diamonds}
Krings: {k-Clubs}{k-Spades}

Krings' kings held up as the turn and river bricked {5-Spades}, {9-Diamonds} respectively, and Quoss was left with just 2,000 chips.
