Diamonds Aren't Ivey's Best Friend

Level 5 : 200/400, 50 ante
Phil Ivey - Eliminated
Phil Ivey - Eliminated

Phil Ivey's seat is occupied by a new player, so we walked over to the table to find out what happened.

According to Jimmy Nistas, who eliminated Ivey, the money went in on a flop of {k-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}. Nistas held {k-}{q-} against Ivey's {a-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}, but Ivey didn't hit a ten or a diamond on the turn or the river and was eliminated.

Rossiter Looks to Keep the Ball Rolling

Level 5 : 200/400, 50 ante
Jeff Rossiter
Jeff Rossiter

Australia Jeff Rossiter had an absolutely amazing year in 2013 winning more than $3.8 million, and he's here at the 2014 Aussie Millions looking to keep the ball rolling.

In a recent hand, an early-position player opened for 800 and Rossiter defended from the hijack. The rest of the players folded, the flop came down {5-Spades}{3-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}, and the raiser checked. Rossiter took the initiative by betting 1,300, his opponent called, and the dealer burned and turned the {10-Clubs}.

The early-position player check-called another bet, this time 3,400, and the {9-Diamonds} completed the board on the river. After his opponent checked for a third time, Rossiter fired out a bet of 6,300. His opponent hit the tank before pushing forward a call, and Rossiter tabled {k-}{k-}.

"I'm beat," his opponent declared before mucking his hand.

Hachem Chips Up

Level 5 : 200/400, 50 ante

Faced with a bet of 10,000 on a flop of {3-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{6-Hearts}, Joe Hachem moved all in for 29,250. His opponent went deep into the tank, mulling the decision over for several minutes before finally folding.

Hachem raked in the pot and now has just under 50,000 chips.

Shak Fails to Make Dinner

Level 5 : 200/400, 50 ante

We noticed Dan Shak was no longer in his seat, and a quick check at the table confirmed that he had fallen just before the dinner break when he got his short stack all in with {8-}{8-} only to run into the {9-}{9-} of Jarod Ludemann.

Shak may be done in the Main Event, but he'll no doubt make an appearance in both the $100,000 and $250,000 Challenges.

Reinkemeier in the Danger Zone

Level 4 : 150/300, 25 ante

Tobias Reinkemeier raised to 650 in early position, and three players called including Winfred Yu on the button. The flop fell {k-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}, the quartet checked, and the turn brought a third heart - the {6-Hearts}.

A player in the big blind checked, Reinkemeier fired out 2,000, and only the player in the big blind folded.

The {3-Diamonds} completed the board, Reinkemeier checked, and a player in the hijack tossed out a single yellow T5,000 chip. Yu called, Reinkemeier tank-called, and the bettor showed {5-Hearts}{4-Hearts} for a flush.

Yu mucked, and Reinkemeier flashed {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}.
