Christmas Time for Salter

Level 16 : 3,000/6,000, 500 ante
Louis Salter
Louis Salter

Just before the break, Robert Black was standing at the payout desk. Checking at his previous table, it was Louis Salter with a massive stack over in the one seat. Salter apparently had flopped trips with {10-}{3-} on {10-}{10-}{2-} and the crazy move of Black with {5-}{7-} for absolute air backfired big time.

Black was already drawing dead and there was nothing he could do anymore but think of what had just happened with the bluff gone horribly wrong.

Lee Large And In Charge

Level 16 : 3,000/6,000, 500 ante

Hon Cheong Lee is dominating his table and is closing in on 600,000 now.

After pushing one opponent off a pot to crest the half million chip mark, he has not slowed down at all.

The very next hand, when Pryce Pincott made it 13,000 on the button, Lee raised it to 36,000 in the small blind. The big blind folded, Pincott called, but when the flop fell {8-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{6-Clubs} and Lee continued for 45,000, he folded.

Heading into the break, Lee is the clear leader with only Niall Farrell close.

Many Big Stacks on that Table

Table 27 holds a big selection of decent stacks and it is even more incredible that they all sit in a row, providing plenty of potential for fireworks.

Move Gone Wrong for Rawlins

Level 16 : 3,000/6,000, 500 ante

Josep Maria Galindo Lopez raised and was called by Travis Rawlins. On the flop {5-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}{5-Hearts}, Rawlins check-raised from 13,000 to 33,000 and was called before leading the {J-Clubs} turn for 45,000. Galindo Lopez shoved for 65,500 and Rawlins had to call off the extra chips with just the {3-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}.

Galindo Lopez had that crushed with {K-Clubs}{Q-Hearts} and the {6-Spades} river was a blank.

Shaikh Eliminated

Level 16 : 3,000/6,000, 500 ante

Not much has been going for Adeel Shaikh. The big stack of Flight 1 scraped into the money and just now committed his last 7,000 chips with the {6-Spades}{7-Clubs}. He got called by an opponent with {K-Spades}{Q-Spades} and the board {10-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{8-Spades} changed nothing whatsoever.

Blackwood Rivers Heald

Level 16 : 3,000/6,000, 500 ante

Donna Heald was all in for what looked like 7 big blinds with the {A-Clubs}{K-Diamonds} and Kevin Blackwood looked her up with the {A-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}. The flop {5-Hearts}{A-Hearts}{7-Spades} was still good for Heald, but the {8-Diamonds} turn gave Blackwood a gutshot. With the {4-Hearts} river, the suckout was complete and Heald headed to the payout desk.

Liu Busts to Wakeman

Level 16 : 3,000/6,000, 500 ante
Xuan Liu
Xuan Liu

Xuan Liu started as short stack, quickly doubled up her stack and after that grinded for some time without too many movements in the chip count. On her last table, Matthew Wakeman left Gerald Karlic short and they split tables only to find themselves at the same table again.

Wakeman raised from the cutoff with {A-}{J-} and Liu shipped her last nine big blinds in out of the big blind with {A-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}. The board blanked and Liu headed to the payout desk.

Expensive Call for Cimbolas

Level 16 : 3,000/6,000, 500 ante

Matas Cimbolas raised to 13,000 and Jack Lee moved all in for 105,500. Cimbolas gave it some thought and made the call with {K-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds} to find himself up against the {A-Hearts}{5-Clubs} of Lee. The board ran out {7-Clubs}{A-Clubs}{10-Spades}{6-Spades}{K-Spades} and the king on the river was not good enough for Cimbolas, who dropped a decent portion of his stack.
