Holz Battles with Puia

Level 8 : 400/800, 100 ante

On a {4-Spades}{9-Spades}{3-Clubs} Eddie Puia checked to Fedor Holz who bet. Puia then check-raised to 13,000 and Holz called.

The turn {6-Diamonds} was checked by both players and the river came the {10-Clubs}. Puia checked quickly and Holz tanked.

"I don't know what you have," said Holz.

"You don't know what I have, or you don't know what you have?" asked Puia with a grin.

"I don't know what you have," replied Holz. "Ok I check."

Puia showed {a-Spades}{2-Spades} and took down the pot.

"I'm sure that if you had my hand I think you would have hit on both turn and river," said Puia, "I put you on two picture cards."

"Then you would be wrong," replied Holz.

Stuer Doesn't Slow

Level 8 : 400/800, 100 ante

Federico Butteroni bet 1,300 from under the gun on a {7-Spades}{q-Spades}{q-Diamonds} flop. Julian Stuer raised to 3,800 from the big blind and Butteroni called. The turn was a {6-Hearts} and Stuer barreled 7,100 more. Again, the Italian stuck around. On the {10-Clubs} river, Stuer shoved for his last 19,300. Butteroni folded fairly quickly and begged to see a card.

Stuer grabbed one and peeked at it in prep for turning it over but Butteroni protested that he wanted to pick one. Stuer smiled and mixed them up, and then Butteroni turned over the {a-Diamonds}.

"Ah!" he said. "Interesting."

Joep Raemaekers Eliminated

Level 8 : 400/800, 100 ante

After Joep Raemaekers had limped in on the button, he bet 2,300 on an {8-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{6-Clubs} flop. Ben Jee check-raised to 8,100 from the small blind, Raemaekers shoved 28,500 total and Jee wasted no time in calling it off.

Joep Raemaekers: {5-Spades}{4-Spades}
Ben Jee: {6-Hearts}{2-Hearts}

The {Q-Hearts} on the turn locked it up for Jee and the {K-Hearts} on the river was just icing on the cake. With that, the last remaining Dutchman has been eliminated.

It's Not All Fedor

Level 8 : 400/800, 100 ante

Fedor Holz started the day off as one would expect: doubling up right away. The German prodigy quickly worked himself up to 80,000 but had to part with some of that just now.

With the pot already up to around 40,000, James Clarke bet 19,000 on a {3-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{4-Hearts} board and Holz went in the tank. He counted out a call and kept it in his hand, gave it some more thought, then decided against it and folded his hand.

The Force (A)Wakeman(s)

Level 8 : 400/800, 100 ante

There are five tables remaining in satellite city while the other half has already broke and immediately filled with cash game tables. Matthew Wakeman started with a rather short stack but has since built a massive stack. As per Martin Finger on the same table, Wakeman and table neighbor Alex Lee Lin Hwaa were involved in a battle button versus small blind and Wakeman called a three-bet with pocket eights to flop a set. They got it in on the river when the board paired and Lee tank-called before mucking.

Klatt Folds to Jam

Level 8 : 400/800, 100 ante

Andreas Klatt raised to 2,000 first to act and Rithy Chhay three-bet to 5,500 in the cutoff. Laszlo Molnar four-bet all in for 41,100 and Klatt took a while before letting go. Chhay asked for a count and called it off with the {A-Clubs}{K-Spades} to see Molnar turn over {A-Hearts}{K-Clubs}. The board came {A-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{10-Spades} and Klatt mentioned in table chat that he folded pocket jacks.

Victor Cracks Aces to Send O'Kearney to the Rail

Level 8 : 400/800, 100 ante
Dara O'Kearney
Dara O'Kearney

Dara O'Kearney raised to 1,600 from early position and Justin Victor three-bet to 4,100 from the next position. It folded back around to O'Kearney who four-bet to 11,700 and Victor called.

O'Kearney continued for 8,000 on the {9-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{4-Spades} flop and Victor called. On the {j-Hearts} turn, the Irish former international ultra runner thought for a moment before moving all in for 18,500. His opponent snap-called.

Dara O'Kearney: {a-Spades}{a-Hearts} - one pair (aces)
Justin Victor: {j-Spades}{j-Clubs} - set of jacks

The river {8-Diamonds} could not save O'Kearney and he was sent to the rail, with Victor moving up over 100,000 with that stroke of luck.
