"No More Showing"

Level 6 : 250/500, 500 ante

Billy Argyros checked from the hijack on {7-Clubs}{8-Spades}{9-Spades} and David Luong bet 2,400 from the cutoff. Argyros paid the price.

Both players tapped the felt when the {4-Spades} filled the flush draw and Argyros checked again on the {j-Clubs} river. Luong flicked in 6,000 and Argyros spent well over a minute processing the situation. Then he opted to fold, soliciting: "Show me the bluff!"

"Nah, no more showing," Luong said, smiling.

Ostby Doubles

Level 6 : 250/500, 500 ante

Bjorn Ostby was all in for about 11,000 with {4-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{5-Clubs} on the felt. His opponent decided to call the wager and flipped over {k-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} for top pair, but that couldn't hold a candle to {a-Hearts}{9-Hearts} for the nuts.

Turn and River Bad for Zhang

Level 6 : 250/500, 500 ante

A player opened for 1,100 in middle position and called when Michael Zhang three-bet to 3,300 on the button. The flop came {8-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} and the middle player check-called 2,600. On the {a-Spades} turn, he check-called 4,300. Both players checked the {q-Spades} river and Zhang tossed {10-Spades}{10-Hearts} in, no good against {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs} for running two pair.

Luong Hails "Sun Run"

Level 5 : 200/400, 400 ante

What looked to be a preflop three-bet pot saw David Luong bet 3,000 out of the big blind on {4-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{2-Hearts}. His opponent jammed 17,600 on the button and Luong called.

Luong needed a favorable runout for his {q-Hearts}{10-Hearts}, playing just queen-high at the moment. The other player showed {5-Spades}{5-Clubs} but he stood up from his chair when the {q-Clubs} hit the turn. The river was the {3-Spades}, confirming the knockout.

"Sun run!" Luong shouted.

Cooler for Behnert

Level 5 : 200/400, 400 ante

We didn't see when the money went in, but Michael Behnert had {a-Spades}{a-Hearts} in front of him on a board of {7-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}{10-Spades}{j-Diamonds}. That was netting him a double worth just under 35,000, with 15,000 already in the pot. His neighbor had a strong hand himself with {8-Clubs}{7-Clubs} but had to send over nearly all of his own chips.

Margereson Collects a Double

Level 5 : 200/400, 400 ante
Aussie Millions Main Event Day 1b
Aussie Millions Main Event Day 1b

Scott Margereson had his chips in front of him to collect a double, having held with {k-Spades}{k-Hearts} against {a-Spades}{j-Clubs}. According to a player there, the lead up to that had been quite action-heavy, with the cutoff having come in for a raise and Steven Tabb having three-bet in the small blind. Margereson put in a cold four from the big, the opener min-raised on a five-bet, Tabb folded and Margereson shoved for about 47,000.

The board ran out {4-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{6-Hearts}, allowing Margereson to fade having to chop.

Tedeschi Clicks Call and Dubs

Level 5 : 200/400, 400 ante

A player in the hijack bet 2,550 on a board of {3-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{8-Clubs} and Paul Tedeschi called on the button. The hijack sized much bigger with a shove on the {j-Spades} river. Tedeschi had about 17,000 left and he took only second to call.

The hijack showed {a-Hearts}{5-Hearts} with a shrug and Tedeschi took it with {k-Clubs}{6-Clubs}.
