Kisacikoglu Doubles With Aces Versus Kings

Level 4 : 150/300, 300 ante
Orpen Kisacikoglu
Orpen Kisacikoglu

Dennis Huntly raised to 700 and Orpen Kisacikoglu on the button three-bet to 2,100. The big blind made it 6,300 to go and Huntly joked "can I ask my poker coach what to do?" and pointed to Mikita Badziakouski in the two seat. He then added "I know what to do, fold and smile. It is important to smile."

Kisacikoglu tossed in calling chips after and also called a bet of 5,500 on the {9-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} flop. The big blind jammed the {2-Clubs} turn and Kisacikoglu instantly called with {a-Clubs}{a-Hearts} as the big blind tabled {k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}. Kisacikoglu had the best of it and even made top set on the {a-Diamonds} river to double for 12,500.

Jack's Good, Indeed

Level 4 : 150/300, 300 ante

Kahle Burns opened in middle position and he received three calls. The {9-Spades}{6-Spades}{q-Clubs} flop was checked to Cary Katz who bet 1,800 from the cutoff. Only Burns called the wager.

Katz opted to skip barrelling the {j-Clubs} turn and eventually checked back on the {2-Hearts} river as well.

"Jack's good," Katz declared, hoping for Burns to turn up his hand first.

"Alright Cary, what do you have, sir? Burns laughed, and Katz had to show his {a-Hearts}{6-Hearts}. Burns then rolled over {k-Diamonds}{j-Spades}, confirming Katz' read.

Thomas Chip Leader on Break?

Level 4 : 150/300, 300 ante

Russell Thomas was on the verge of 100,000 chips a while earlier, but on closer inspection he's now sitting on a stack of 125,000 as the tournament approaches the dinner break.

With over US$3.1 million in lifetime cashes, Thomas has three previous Aussie Millions cashes, the biggest of which came in 2015 when he finished third in the Shot Clock Six Max for A$54,850.

Wang Out With a Bang

Yong Wang in the A$50,000 Challenge
Yong Wang in the A$50,000 Challenge

One last hand was played over on table 27 and that one provided fireworks. Yong Wang raised to 800 and picked up one caller, Bruno Portaro in the small blind three-bet to 5,100 and Wang was the only caller. Portaro bet the {q-Spades}{q-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} flop and was called, he then checked the {3-Spades} turn and Wang bet 5,600 to pick up a call from Portaro.

After the {a-Diamonds} river, Portaro checked again and Wang jammed for 15,600.

"I have no idea how you play," Portaro sighed and eventually called while Ashish Gupta was waiting on the rail.

Wang nodded, said good call and flashed the {10-Spades}{8-Diamonds} while Portaro scooped the pot with {j-Spades}{j-Diamonds} for queens and jacks.

Aldemir Looks into Flush

Level 5 : 200/400, 400 ante

Koray Aldemir checked the {9-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{3-Spades} turn from early position and his opponent fired 3,700 from the button. Aldemir called.

The river filled the flush draw as the {7-Clubs} landed and Aldemir checked again. The other player announced a bet of 7,800 and Aldemir paused for over a minute. He smiled and convinced himself to call.

"Nuts," the other player said, and even though he didn't have the straight flush, his {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs} still easily won him the pot.

On a {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} board, Erik Seidel bet 1,500 into a pot of 4,500 and his opponent raised on the button to 4,500.

Seidel checked the {5-Spades} river to his opponent, who quickly checked behind. Seidel showed {k-Diamonds}{q-Clubs} for a full house and his opponent mucked.
