Loeser Doubles Through Chu

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Mai Ha lost some chips and John Chu, the other big stack at table 49, also had to forfeit a portion of his growing tower after doubling table neighbor Manig Loeser in a battle cutoff versus button.

The chips went in preflop and Loeser had the superior kicker with {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades} versus {a-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}. On a board of {6-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{2-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{3-Hearts}, ace-king high remained supreme and Loeser doubled for 89,000.

Defending Champion Kenney Eliminated

Bryn Kenney
Bryn Kenney

Bryn Kenney was all-in for the last 29,000 from under the gun and Nicolas Malo asked from one seat over, the rest of the table folded.

Bryn Kenney: {k-Clubs}{q-Spades}
Nicolas Malo: {j-Clubs}{j-Spades}

Kenney needed a king, queen or broadway cards but found neither on a {8-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{2-Spades}{4-Clubs}{8-Clubs} runout to hit the rail at the very end of the second level on Day 3. As a result, it also means that a new Aussie Millions Main Event champion will be crowned.

Lampropulos Doubles

Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Three players saw a {5-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{k-Clubs} flop and Simen Gulbrandsen and Maria Lampropulos got in a raising war, with the former betting 11,000, the latter making it 38,000 and the former shoving with a covering stack. Lampropulos called in short order with {k-Spades}{q-Spades} and was leading {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}. The {8-Diamonds} turn and {3-Spades} river kept it that way and she received 131,000.

Kang Doubles Shak; Busts One After

Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Dan Shak was flipping for his tournament life for the last 90,500 with {7-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} against the {a-Diamonds}{j-Spades} of Jinsoo Kang and the board came {7-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{k-Clubs} to give Shak a full house.

A few minutes later, Kang called the shove of a shorter stack while she was in the big blind and had the pair this time in {2-Clubs}{2-Spades} versus {q-Hearts}{10-Hearts}. The mighty ducks hit a full house on the {k-Spades}{k-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{7-Hearts} board to send some chips back to Kang.

Zhang Doubles Through Swannack

Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Bobby Zhang was all in for 47,000 with {a-Spades}{2-Spades} against the {4-Clubs}{5-Clubs} of Cole Swannack.

The flop {2-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}{6-Clubs} had something for everyone, giving Zhang two pair and Swannack both straight and flush draws.

Luckily for Zhang, the {9-Hearts} turn and {k-Diamonds} river bricked and he doubled up.

Tay in the Tank

Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Heavy action followed a {6-Hearts}{j-Spades}{k-Clubs} flop at Table 31. It looked like the player on the button bet small, around 5,000, and big blind Zachary Tay raised, only to have Ngoc Tai Hoang make it 61,000 in the cutoff. Tay stuck around and they went heads up to a {5-Hearts}. Tay checked and Hoang shoved for around 100,000.

Tay went deep into the tank, apologizing after around five or six minutes. Another player laughed and told him to take his time. He thought about another two minutes then folded what he claimed was sixes. Hoang claimed to have had that beat.
