Cohen Finally Dusted

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Joel Cohen shoved for about 200,000 in the small blind and opener Gareth Pepper quickly called in the cutoff, tabling {a-Spades}{k-Spades}.

"This is my last escape," Cohen rued, showing {a-Clubs}{10-Spades}.

The {2-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{5-Spades}{9-Hearts} board failed to save him one last time, and his run up is over after coming back from just a few chips earlier today.

Pekarek Loses Some

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

The field has been trimmed down to the final 40 hopefuls, who are now balanced on five 8-max tables. As soon as the last 36 are reached, there will be a redraw to six six-max tables and that may still happen tonight with just over half an hour to play.

In a hand over on table 25, Jeremy Pekarek in the big blind was part of three-way action and led the {6-Spades}{5-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} turn for 85,000. By then, only Daniel O'Shea on the button remained and he raised to 200,000. Pekarek was deep in the think tank and the clock was called on him, he eventually folded.

Chu Dominated to Bust Main Event

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

John Chu was all in for 154,000 with {a-Spades}{9-Spades} but was dominated by Ali Ghezelbash holding {9-Hearts}{9-Clubs}

The board ran out {3-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds} with Ghezelbash rivering a full house to send Chu to the rail.

The tournament is now to five tables. A reminder that upon reaching 36 players they will redraw to six-handed tables.

Seidel Eliminates Sanchez

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Erik Seidel shoved in the small blind for 220,000 or so effective and Robert Sanchez quickly called off in the big with {9-Spades}{9-Hearts}. He was racing against {k-Clubs}{q-Clubs}.

The {k-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{4-Spades} flop was all Seidel, but an {8-Spades} turn kept things interesting. The river was a {q-Diamonds}, sending the pot to the legend.

Lamb Eliminates Jouhkimainen

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Joni Jouhkimainen was all in with {q-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} for 110,000 and had been called by Ben Lamb with {a-Clubs}{6-Clubs}.

The flop {4-Clubs}{3-Spades}{5-Spades} gave Lamb an open-ended straight draw, and he hit his six on the {6-Spades} turn. Jouhkimanen called for a deuce - which would have given both players a six-high straight - but the river was the {j-Diamonds} and he was eliminated.

Mandic Nearing a Million

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Goran Mandic was the initial raiser from the button and Jinsoo Kang defended out of the big blind. On the river of a board {a-Hearts}{q-Spades}{q-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}, Kang checked and called a bet worth 40,000 by Mandic but could not beat the {a-Diamonds}{j-Hearts} of the Croatian.

Mandic moved close to a million and only trails Rishabh Vekaria on his table.

Godena Next To Fall

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Jarryd Godena was one of the last players to enter the Main Event in the break after level eight on Day 2 and he survived an all-in on the stone-cold bubble. Nursing a shorter stack for some time, Godena just went for a stop-and-go and defended the big blind, then jammed the {7-Hearts}{5-Spades}{4-Clubs} flop for around 80,000 to get called by Nicolas Malo.

Jarryd Godena: {10-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}
Nicolas Malo: {a-Spades}{7-Spades}

Godena had an open-ender and an overcard at his disposal but found no help on the {5-Hearts} turn and {9-Diamonds} river runout.

Sitbon Can't Hold With Jacks

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Julien Sitbon
Julien Sitbon

Pete Chen raised to 22,000 from under the gun and was called by Rishabh Vekaria in the cutoff. Julien Sitbon jammed the button for 180,000 and Chen reshoved for more than that to force a fold from Vekaria.

Julien Sitbon: {j-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}
Pete Chen: {10-Hearts}{10-Clubs}

Chen took the lead after the {10-Spades}{8-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} flop, leaving Sitbon with six outs. Nothing changed on the {3-Spades} turn and the {k-Hearts} river was a blank as well to eliminate Sitbon in unfortunate fashion.
