Vekaria Outflops, Busts Stang

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

On an {8-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{9-Spades} flop, Rishabh Vekaria checked and Bernie Stang shoved all in for about 190,000, which looked to be at least double the pot. Vekaria snap-called with {9-Clubs}{9-Hearts} for a set and was far in front of {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds}. The {5-Clubs} turn opened chopping outs for Stang but Vekaria just filled up on the {5-Spades} river.

Ong Busts Klinghammer; Doubles Lin

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Dingxiang Ong raised to 17,000 from under the gun and was called by Thibaut Klinghammer in the big blind. On a {a-Clubs}{q-Spades}{10-Clubs} flop, Klinghammer check-called a bet and check-raised from 45,000 to 150,000 when the {7-Spades} appeared on the turn. Ong made the call and Klinghammer jammed the {9-Clubs} river for 110,000, Ong snap-called.

Klinghammer tabled {k-Hearts}{j-Spades} for the flopped ace-high straight while Ong had {j-Clubs}{7-Clubs} for a flush.

The fortune of Ong lasted just a few minutes when he got it in for an effective 234,000 in a battle of the blinds with Kan Lin.

Kan Lin: {a-Clubs}{6-Hearts}
Dingxiang Ong: {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}

The {j-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{10-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} board improved Lin to a pair of sixes to secure the double.

Pekarek Doubles Through Ribeiro

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

In a battle of the blinds it was Jeremy Pekarek that ended up at risk with the {k-Spades}{7-Spades} and Tomas Ribeiro that put him at risk with the {j-Clubs}{5-Clubs} out of the small blind.

Ribeiro predicted a flop with all clubs while Pekarek was hoping for the king of hearts. Neither prediction would come true on the {a-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} flop, and the {7-Diamonds} turn and {8-Spades} river were clean for Pekarek.

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Manig Loeser
Manig Loeser

Steve O'Dwyer had 20,000 in front of him on the button, with Manig Loeser having three-bet to 80,000. Big blind Michael Sideridis slid in 200,000. O'Dwyer moved all in covering everyone. Loeser wasted little time before calling off. Sideridis needed over a minute then just laughed and folded.

The two high rollers showed down:

Loeser: {k-Diamonds}{k-Spades}
O'Dwyer: {10-Hearts}{10-Clubs}

The {5-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} board sent the pot and the overall chip lead to Loeser.

Wantman Binks the River

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Matthew Wantman was all-in and at risk against Dingxiang Ong, who had just arrived to his immediate right.

Wantman tabled the {q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs} and Ong was trailing with the {a-Clubs}{4-Hearts}. The {8-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} flop gave Ong an additional gutshot which he hit on the {6-Spades} turn. But Wantman had the last word as the {a-Diamonds} river improved him to a flush.

Quan Zhou
Quan Zhou

Quan Zhou opened to 18,000 and then four-bet jammed for 243,000 over a three-bet from Jordan Tentori.

Quan Zhou: {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts}
Jordan Tentori: {k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}

Zhou was the player at risk and he picked up an ace on the {j-Spades}{a-Clubs}{2-Spades} flop. However, the turn {k-Spades} saw Tentori hit his one outer to send Zhou to the rail. The river was the {j-Diamonds} and Tentori moved back above average.

Lew Felts Lampropulos; Moves Close to a Million

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Maria Lampropulos
Maria Lampropulos

The next all-in showdown over on table seven did not involve Simen Gulbrandsen much to the surprise of almost everyone and instead it was Randy Lew and Maria Lampropulos that got their chips into the middle. Lampropulos was the player at risk for 162,000 and it was a classic flip.

Maria Lampropulos: {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades}
Randy Lew: {8-Spades}{8-Clubs}

The {5-Spades}{4-Spades}{4-Hearts}{7-Spades}{2-Hearts} board kept the pocket pair in the lead and Lampropulos became the next casualty while Lew moved up to nearly a million and snapped another picture of his growing stack for social media purposes.

Two In a Row for Gulbrandsen

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Liam Doyle
Liam Doyle

Liam Doyle chopped when he was at risk with ace-nine versus ace-nine and he ended up all-in and at risk soon after, again facing the hot-running Simen Gulbrandsen.

Liam Doyle: {a-Clubs}{10-Clubs}
Simen Gulbrandsen: {a-Spades}{q-Hearts}

There were chop outs on a board of {j-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{4-Clubs}{2-Clubs} but Doyle eventually came up short to bow out in 61st place. Gulbrandsen returned from the previous break to a stack of 250,000 and has now knocked out three opponents in fewer than 15 minutes to more than double his stack.
