Ullman Scores Big Double Through Pupillo

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Oliver Weis opened and Nick Pupillo called. Nino Ullmann three-bet from the button and Pupillo was the only caller.

Pupillo check-called on a {3-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} flop and then check-called 185,000 on the {3-Hearts} turn.

The river was the {9-Clubs}. Pupillo checked again and Ullmann moved all in for 372,000.

Pupillo tanked and then called with Ullmann turning over {k-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}. Pupillo flashed {j-Spades}{j-Hearts} and handed over the chips.

The Double Up Galore Continues

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Nicolas Malo clashed with Simen Gulbrandsen and was at risk for 241,000 on the {q-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} flop.

Malo held the {k-Spades}{k-Clubs} for an overpair while Gulbrandsen had {a-Clubs}{q-Hearts} for top pair. The {7-Spades} turn and {k-Diamonds} river kept Malo's hand best and he doubled.

Next up, Malo put Matthew Wantman to the test who was all-in for 168,000 with the {q-Diamonds}{q-Spades}. Malo only had {5-Clubs}{5-Spades} and found no sweat on the {8-Hearts}{3-Spades}{2-Spades}{2-Hearts}{a-Diamonds} board.

Flynn Eliminated by Weis

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Gavin Flynn explained to us how Daniel O'Shea limped in the cutoff and Oliver Weis raised to 32,000 on the button.

Flynn then four-bet all in for 200,000 with {a-}{9-} suited from the small blind. O'Shea folded and Weis called with {9-}{9-} to send Flynn to the rail.

Weis now joins Manig Loeser, Rishabh Vekaria and Scott Margereson in the seven-figure stack club.

Jouhkimainen Finds a Fold

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

With about 140,000 in the middle, Bryce Yockey checked in the small blind and Joni Jouhkimainen bet 38,000 in the cutoff. Yockey called, bringing an {a-Hearts}. He then shoved all in for 187,000 effective. Jouhkimainen tanked several minutes.

"I think I'm supposed to fold this," he said.

Still, he thought another couple of minutes before conceding. He asked to see a card.

"I can't in a pot like that," Yockey said with a smile.

The Cohen Comeback Continues

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

At blinds of 2,000-4,000 with a big blind ante of 4,000, Joel Cohen was down to 1,500 in chips. The money bubble was not reached yet. Who is still in contention with 51 players remaining? Cohen, of course.

He was moved to a new table just now and faced the raise to 18,000 by Gareth Pepper, Cohen jammed for 94,000 on the button and Rishabh Vekaria in the small blind cold-called. Pepper gave it some thought and folded to create the following showdown.

Joel Cohen: {10-Spades}{10-Clubs}
Rishabh Vekaria: {k-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}

On a board of {8-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}, Cohen survived yet another all-in showdown and now has a playable stack.

Vekaria Rises Further; Busts Thomas

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Russell Thomas
Russell Thomas

On a flop of {10-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}, Russell Thomas was the at risk player for what appeared to be 120,000 and table big stack Rishabh Vekaria looked him up.

Russell Thomas: {a-Hearts}{8-Spades}
Rishabh Vekaria: {10-Hearts}{7-Hearts}

Both had flopped a pair and Vekaria was in the lead, which he kept after the {3-Diamonds} turn and {3-Spades} river gave both players a full house.

O'Dwyer Outkicks Rafferty to Double

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Action was on a {7-Hearts}{k-Spades}{5-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} board and Tom Rafferty checked to Steve O'Dwyer who bet 60,000. Rafferty check-raised all in with O'Dwyer contemplating for his last 205,000.

Eventually the clock was called and as the seconds counted down, O'Dwyer called.

Rafferty showed {k-Hearts}{5-Hearts} for two pair and a six kicker, with O'Dwyer outkicking him with {k-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}

Yockey Eliminates Fairrie; Doubles Up Lamb

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Bryce Yockey held {3-Hearts}{3-Spades} against the {k-Clubs}{10-Clubs} of Thomas Fairrie. Fairrie flopped a ten on the {5-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{10-Spades} giving him the lead.

"I'm thinking of the six of clubs," said Yockey, which would give him a straight draw, but the {3-Clubs} was much more immediate help as he turned a set. The river was the {2-Spades} and Fairrie was eliminated.

A short while later, Ben Lamb was all in with {a-Hearts}{k-Spades} against the {9-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} of Yockey for 205,000.

The board ran out {10-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{k-Hearts} and Lambd oubled up.

Miller Busts Liu

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

In a battle of short stacks and in the blinds, Yin Liu ended up at risk for 85,000 with the {a-Clubs}{7-Hearts} and Steven Miller was narrowly ahead with the {a-Hearts}{8-Hearts}.

The {j-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{6-Spades} flop gave Miller a pair of eights while Liu picked up a gutshot on the {10-Hearts} turn. A blank {5-Diamonds} followed on the river and that spelled the end for Liu.
