Uka Triples Up

Level 18 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Uno Uka was on the ropes and had just six big blinds to his name, but a much-needed triple-up brought his stack back to around 400,000 and out of the danger zone.

Uka had shoved 119,000 from the button over an open and a call, and got two calls from his opponents.

No more chips went into the pot on the 99Q68 runout as both other players checked. Uka then revealed AQ to scoop the pot and triple up!

Tran and Hay Clash in the Blinds

Level 18 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Minh Tran and Andrew Hay got into a raising war preflop from the blinds where Hay made a three-bet to 150,000 and Tran snapped back with a four-bet to 300,000. After some consideration, Hay dropped in a call.

The flop came 67A and both checked to see the Q drop on the turn. Immediately, Tran moved all in, which gave Hay a test for his remaining stack of around 400,000.

"Do you have aces or kings?" said Hay as he pushed his cards back to the dealer. Tran didn't respond and returned his cards face down while he raked in the pot, sending his stack back to around 1,000,000.

Baraba's Ace Good at Showdown

Level 18 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

With over 200,000 in the pot on a 9A6 flop, both Joshua Baraba from early position and Pankaj Gogia in the hijack checked to see the 3 hit the turn. Baraba checked again, then Gogia fired out 60,000. Baraba called.

A 6 completed the runout and both players knuckled the table where Baraba showed AJ for a pair of aces. Gogia couldn't beat that and mucked his hand, allowing Baraba to chip up to around 600,000.

The 2025 Australian Poker Open isn't just about trophies—it's also the first chance for players in the A$2K Fantasy Draft to rack up points for their teams.

With 55 drafted players battling across approximately 30 events, every deep run and elimination matters. Each fantasy team consists of five players, and the leaderboard will heat up fast with A$11K for 1st, A$7K for 2nd, and A$4K for 3rd on the line.

Early signs are promising for the Banana Benders, as Cooper Feltham is up to around 900,000 chips after busting Marcial Dias to gain the upper hand in the Diamond Cup. Armon Van Wijk was not as fortunate and busted early, but did score his team some points with a cash.

Stay tuned to see who’s climbing the fantasy ranks as the APO action continues!

Feltham Flushes Out Dias

Level 17 : Blinds 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante

With around 140,000 in the middle on a flop of 109A, Marcial Dias from under the gun had his stack of 215,000 in the middle and was quickly put at risk by Cooper Feltham on the button.

Feltham was free-rolling and needed a club to send Dias to the rail in the second level of the day. The K turn gave both Broadway, but it was still the club that Dias needed to fade to stay alive.

Unfortunately for Dias, the 3 landed on the river and Feltham lived up to his name and felted Dias with a flush.

Chen Finds the River to Double Up

Level 16 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Rani Sami opened to 25,000 from early position and Chris Chen shoved from the next seat for around 120,000. Once the action got back to Sami, he quickly flicked in the call.

Chen held a huge lead, but soon fell behind when the dealer put out a flop of 5106, pairing Sami's six. A Q dropped on the turn which have Chen some more outs with a Broadway draw, but he didn't seem confident and reached for his bag in preparation for an early departure. However, he soon put it back down again when he smashed top pair with the K river, much to the shock of the table.
