Short Day For Kelley

Level 16 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Jhye Kelley had committed his stack of around 50,000 from early position and was put at risk by Chan Park from the small blind.

Jhye Kelley: KQ All in
Chan Park: 44

Kelley was flipping for his tournament life and didn't find much to work with on the 5310 flop. A 6 added an unnecessary straight draw for Park on the turn, and his Sailboats held up when the 9 landed on the river, sending Kelley for an early shower.

Australian Poker Open

The highly anticipated 2025 Australian Poker Open is officially underway, launching an eleven-day poker spectacle at Club Marconi at Doltone House Western Sydney. This year’s series opened with the A$350 Diamond Cup, which smashed through its massive A$500,000 guarantee with a prize pool of A$625,200—one of the largest prize pools ever attached to a buy-in at this level in Australia.

The Day 1's began on April 14 in the Diamond Cup and drew a huge field of 2,084 players from across the region, all eager to claim their share of the action. After several opening flights, the tournament has now been whittled down to around 12.5% of the field and the survivors return today, April 19, for Day 2, where the race toward the final table—and the title—continues at 12 p.m..

The PokerNews Live Reporting team is on-site to capture every major moment from the headline events, providing live updates, chip counts, photos, and all the drama from the felt. In addition to the Diamond Cup, coverage will also extend to the A$1,500 Platinum Players Championship (April 16–21), the A$3,300 APO Main Event (April 19–26), the A$10,000 The Trojan (April 22–23), the A$1,500 Heads Up Championship (April 22–23), and the A$1,200 Poker Palace Main Event (April 23–27).
