Gao Successfully Calls For Chop

Action was picked up on the river of a board reading 910JKQ. With a straight on the board, Mike Gao was facing a decision for his tournament life.

Matthew Zambanini, to his left, had moved all in, and had him covered. After a few moments of thought, Gao stuck in a call.

"I had it," said Zambanini, as he tabled Q6 for the turned straight that was counterfeit on the river. Gao had dlopped a set with 1010 but played the same straight as his opponent as the two chopped the pot.

Hamlet Finds Dream Turn to Bust Ripnick

Action was picked up on a flop of 269 with a pot contested between early position Brandon Hamlet and John Ripnick who was two seats to his left.

When checked to, Ripnick bet out for 2,000 into 4,500, and Hamlet stuck around with a call. he then checked again on the 6 turn, and Ripnick sized up to 5,000. Hamlet moved all in, covering his opponent's stack of 17,300. Ripnick made the call.

Matthew Zambanini opened to 700 from middle position, and Cherish Andrews on his left stuck in a call. Action folded to Jordan Glazer on the button, who opted to three-bet to 3,500. Zambanini folded, but Andrews stuck around.

On a flop of 532 Andrews checked over to her opponent, who went for a continuation-bet of 2,800. Andrews check-raised to 7,500, Glazer three-bet to 14,800, and Andrews responded by moving all in for 19,200. Glazer seemed pained, but made the call.

John Ripnick opened to 700 from early position. Daniel Monosson called from the small blind, only for big blind Brandon Hamlet to squeeze to 4,000. Ripnick called, and Monosson folded.

The AK5 flop was fanned out by the dealer, and Hamlet showed no signs of slowing down. He put 2,800 forward, which garnered a fold from Ripnick.

The 2 peeled off on the river, and Porter checked once again. Wilson slid 10,200 into the middle, and Porter went into the tank. Eventually, he came to a decision, but it was the wrong one as his call prompted Wilson to table K8 for a flopped two pair. Porter mucked his cards.

The J5Q flop checked through, bringing in the 9 on the river. Here, Andrews bet out for 1,100, only for Deng to raise to 3,800. Andrews called to see the 3 river.

She checked her option, sending Deng deep into the tank. After a good minute or so of thought, he slid forward an overbet of 16,000. Andrews didn't think too long before calling, and saw the bad news as her opponent rolled over K10 for the stone cold nuts. She returned her cards to the dealer face down.
