Last month at the PLO Grand Slam Malta €5,200 Millions, Gabi Livshitz was crowned the champion at Casino Malta. Livshitz had a lively rail, with many of his friends cheering him on as he dragged pots left and right. Livshitz took home €218,100 for conquering the field of 189 entries and winning his first-ever Diamond Poker Series event, the largest share of the €940,000 prize pool.
Despite having won many tournaments since his first The Hendon Mob recorded live cash in 2014, this marks Livshitz's maiden live pot-limit Omaha victory. However, Livshitz had already proven his four-card prowess by winning an online bracelet in the variant when the world was in lockdown in 2021, and his PLO Grand Slam trophy will form a nice addition to his trophy cabinet.
2025 PLO Grand Slam Malta €5,200 Million Final Table Results
With the board reading 10♥9♦9♠ and around 70,000 already in the middle, Filip Aleksic checked from under the gun and Youness Barakat bet 29,000 from the hijack. Aleksic check-raised to 60,000, and Barakat called.
Both players checked the 4♦ turn, leading to the J♥ river. Aleksic shoved, covering Barakat who had a bit more than 100,000 behind. Barakat called and showed A♦Q♥10♣8♣ for a queen-high straight. Aleksic tabled K♠K♥9♥4♥ for nines full of fours to score the early knockout.
Also at this table is Jose Scarano, who eliminated Sebestyen Balint in the first hand of play. Both Balint and Barakat chose to reenter soon after.
