Johannes Strassmann Eliminated in 7th Place (£120,723)

Johannes Strassmann - 7th Place
Johannes Strassmann - 7th Place
Michael Martin moved all in and Johannes Strassmann called. Martin had Strassmann slightly covered.

Strassmann {J-Hearts} {J-Spades}
Martin {K-Diamonds} {Q-Hearts}

Martin took the lead when the flop came down {Q-Diamonds} {9-Hearts} {5-Spades}. Strassmann couldn't hit a jack on the {5-Diamonds} turn or the {6-Spades} river and was eliminated in 7th place. He'll take £120,723 home to Germany for his finish

Slow Down?

Has there been a slow down? Well, not really. Since Lellouche's early departure, there has not been any more eliminations. However, it's not due to inaction. Rather, there has been plenty of all-in action. It's just that the big stacks are doubling up the big stacks. And whenever Marcin Horecki moves all in... everyone heads for cover.

Germany 1, USA 1

American Michael Martin doubled through German Johannes Strassmann earlier this level and just recently Strassmann got some of his chips back when he doubled through American Eric Liu. The German Team PokerStars Pro has been battling both Americans all afternoon.

Johannes Strassmann Doubles Through Eric Liu

Eric Liu opened for 100,000, Johannes Strassmann moved all in for 370,000 and Liu made the call.

Strassmann {10-Diamonds} {10-Spades}
Liu {A-Clubs} {Q-Spades}

The {10-Hearts} was the first card off the deck, much to Strassmann's delight, as the flop came down {10-Hearts} {J-Hearts} {4-Spades}. The {8-Hearts} on the turn, though gave him a sweat as Liu picked up a double gutshot straight draw, needing a king or a nine to win. The river, though, was the {A-Diamonds} and Strassmann notched the double-up, increasing his stack to 828,000. Liu fell to 1,571,000.
