The Elkification Continues

There are some who say that you can run like God, or better yet, you can run like ElkY... But whether or not you believe in the divine power of Grospellier, he's knocked out another player.

It was a good old-fashioned coinflip this time as ElkY raised under the gun and then called the push from Carlos Lopez in the big blind.

Lopez: {A-Diamonds} {10-Diamonds}
ElkY: {4-Hearts} {4-Diamonds}

Board: {5-Spades} {Q-Spades} {J-Clubs} {4-Spades} {A-Clubs}

Lopez lopes off, and ElkY is over 800,000.

Noah's Stack Is Boeken

No-ah Way Back?
No-ah Way Back?
Disaster for Noah Boeken after fellow Dutchman Jorn Walthaus got all-in with {A-Diamonds} {Q-Hearts} against Boeken's {A-Clubs} {K-Hearts} but the board rattled out {Q-Spades} {7-Clubs} {8-Diamonds} {J-Diamonds} {9-Spades} leaving the latter shaking his head with just a few thousand left.

Life Is Bueno For Patrick

Patrick Bueno has doubled through Albert van Zandwijk after the Frenchman was all-in on a {5-Hearts} {A-Clubs} {4-Spades} board with {5-Diamonds} {5-Clubs} against {A-Diamonds} {10-Diamonds}. The turn was the {4-Hearts} and the river the {K-Spades} to put Bueno over the 250,000 mark.

Bonding ElkY'd

Also just before the break, Lars Bonding suffered a classic ElkY-driven setback.

We caught up with the hand on the turn, the board reading {7-Spades} {9-Hearts} {2-Diamonds} {Q-Diamonds}. It looked as though ElkY had checked in the cutoff; either way, Bonding on the button had a 65,000 bet in front of him, which ElkY eventually called.

The river was the {A-Clubs} and now ElkY bet out 121,000. Bonding was faced with a real decision, and he eventually, with a resigned sigh, called. ElkY however flipped over {A-Diamonds} {9-Spades} for a rivered two pair, and Bonding just mucked, his stack reduced to 110,000. ElkY, meanwhile, is up to over 600,000.

Phillips Flicks the Aggression Switch

Just before the break, Carter Phillips raised and got looked up by Cornel Cimpan on the button to see an {8-Spades} {Q-Diamonds} {4-Spades} flop.

Phillips bet out 11,500 and was met with a speedy call from Cimpan, necessitating a turn. The turn was the {3-Diamonds} and Phillips continued to bet -- this time 23,500. Again, Cimpan called.

They saw a {J-Spades} river and this time Phillips made it 52,500 to go. A moment's pause, and now Cimpan gave it up, to calls of, "Nice hand, Carter!" from his buddies at the rail.
