Kings for Shak

On the {A-Clubs}{Q-Spades}{3-Spades} flop, Dan Shak fired 700 and was called by Team PokerStars Pro Vicky Coren. She made the call and the turn paired the board with the {Q-Hearts}. Shak checked and Coren was right there to check behind him.

The river landed with the {7-Spades} and completed a possible flush draw. Shak checked and Coren checked. Shak showed the {K-Spades}{K-Clubs} and Coren flashed two jacks before tossing them into the muck. Given the scary run out of the board in relation to each player's hand, things were played on the small side for this one.

Chen's Two Pair Loses to Straight

After one player checked the {10-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{4-Spades} flop, Bill Chen bet 500. Vanessa Rousso and one other folded before another payer called. The first player who had checked then called as well, leaving three players in to the turn.

The turn was the {6-Hearts} and all three players checked to see the {J-Clubs} land on the river. The first player checked and Chen bet 1,200. The next player folded and then the first player check-raised to 3,800. Chen made the call, quickly, and tabled the {5-Spades}{4-Diamonds} right away. His opponent turned over a winning {8-Diamonds}{7-Spades} for the straight.

Demidov's Aces Lose to Roberts' Tens

Level 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

Team PokerStars Pro Ivan Demidov is rueing picking up pocket aces as they just cost him more than half his stack (down to 16,000). He was heads up with Ben Roberts and the two had made it to the river of a {4-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} board with 15,000 chips making it into the middle.

Roberts was first to act and all in for his remaining 13,500. Demidov was suspicious and took his time, but it’s hard to fold those aces, and he made the call. Roberts tabled {10-Spades}{10-Clubs} for a set of tens and scooped.

Double for King Dan

Level 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

Local lad Nik Persaud is down to around 5,000 chips after losing a big flip against Dan Smith.

There seemed to have been a raise to 450 that Persaud had flat-called from the cutoff before Smith three-bet to 1,500. The action was on Persaud we when we picked up on the hand and he put in a four-bet to 3,350. Smith though for a while and put in a five-bet to 6,500 and then called all in for 17,800 when Persaud shoved.

Persaud: {j-Clubs}{j-Spades}
Smith {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts}

The board ran {10-Spades}{3-Spades}{a-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{10-Hearts} to give Smith the double.

Try and Say Valladareshurtado Fives Times Fast... Or Just Once

Level 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

From under the gun, Salvatora Bonavena raised to 350. Jean-Robert Bellande called from the cutoff seat and the player in the big blind, William Valladareshurtado, also called. The flop came down {10-Spades}{8-Hearts}{5-Spades} and action checked to Bellande. He bet 900 and Valladareshurtado called. Bonavena folded.

The turn was the {9-Diamonds} and both remaining players checked. The river completed the board with the {4-Hearts} and both checked again.

"Five," announced Valladareshurtado before tabling the {5-Hearts}{2-Spades}. Bellande mucked.
