Chicken and Biscuits

Level 5 : 150/300, 25 ante

A player opened in late position, Lothar Meier called on the button, Ismael Bojang defended in the big blind, and the flop fell {a-Hearts}{5-Spades}{8-Hearts}. All three players checked.

The turn was the {7-Hearts}, Meier led out for 1,500, and Bojang instantly raised to 3,600. The original raiser folded, and Meier made the call.

The {j-Clubs} completed the board, both players knuckled, and Bojang tabled {a-Spades}{2-Hearts} for a pair of aces. It was good, and he was shipped the pot.

Little One For Lim

Level 5 : 150/300, 25 ante

Action folded to Aaron Lim in the cutoff who made it 700 to go. The button and small blind folded but Pham Thanh Hai called from the big blind.

The duo saw a flop of {Q-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{K-Hearts} and Hai checked. Lim continued for 1,100 and received a call. The dealer produced the {10-Clubs} on fourth street and it was once again checked to Lim. A bet of 2,200 prompted a fold from Hai and Lim took it down.

OnAAt

Level 5 : 150/300, 25 ante

Senadin Cosic limped in from under the gun, Johnny Lodden raised to 800 two spots to his left, Daniel Onat three-bet to 1,650 on Lodden's direct left, and Johnny Ostbjerg, Jan Peters, Cosic, and Lodden call called.

The flop came {4-Hearts}{7-Spades}{8-Clubs}, and the action checked to Onat who continued for 3,500. Ostbjerg snap-called, and the rest of the players folded.

The turn was the {2-Hearts}, Onat led out for 7,200, and again Ostbjerg called.

The {2-Spades} completed the board, and Onat fired out a small bet of 7,000. Ostbjerg tanked for longer than he had on any other street, then called. Onat ripped over {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds} for aces and deuces, and Ostbjerg unhappily mucked his hand.

Cleavage And The Art Of Concealment

Level 5 : 150/300, 25 ante

Poker is all about concealment, whether it’s the strength of your hand or the discreet tells that might give you away. For one player though it goes a little further than that, while across the way an obvious distraction makes concealment practically impossible. Read on at the PokerStars Blog.

Aces For Vater

Level 5 : 150/300, 25 ante

Kai Vater raised to 1,800 preflop and Edouard Katz three-bet to 3,800. The action was folded back to Vater who sighed and moved all in for 10,825. Katz had to call only a little more but took his time. When the dealer counted down his stack Katz called.

Vater: {A-Diamonds}{A-Hearts}
Katz: {J-Hearts}{J-Clubs}

The board ran out {3-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} and Vater doubled up.

Ladouceur's Line Fails Against Nitsche

Level 5 : 150/300, 25 ante
Dominik Nitsche
Dominik Nitsche

Dominik Nitsche is on the up after he took on and defeated Marc-Andre Ladouceur.

The action was four-way to a {6-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} flop and Nitsche bet 2,000 when the action was checked to him in the hijack. Paul Berende called from the small blind; the big blind folded but Ladouceur check-raised to 5,900.

Nitsche called and then stared at the Canadian as he bet 5,900 on the {j-Clubs} turn. Nitsche moved all in for about 17,000 and Ladouceur had to admit defeat and fold.

Smith Runs Into Aces

Level 5 : 150/300, 25 ante

We caught up with the action to see a board of {10-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{6-Hearts}{K-Clubs} spread on the felt. With well over 19,000 already in the middle, we found Dan Smith pondering his action. He continued to do so for about sixty seconds before finally cutting out 12,800. Pietro Paolo Sibione in the next seat over flat called and action was on a third player at the other end of the table. He released as there were two left going to the river.

The dealer produced the {9-Clubs} on the last street and Smith once again went into the tank. Time was called but by the time the floor staff came over Smith tapped the table to check. Sibione checked right back.

Smith showed {J-Diamonds}{J-Hearts} but was ultimately behind Sibione's {A-Spades}{A-Clubs}. Smith watched as the pot of roughly 45,000 chips was pushed toward his opponent. Smith is still above starting stack, however, with roughly 32,500.

Sibione, on the other hand, is now sporting about 71,000 in chips.

Steve O'Dwyer is Out

Level 5 : 150/300, 25 ante
Steve O'Dwyer
Steve O'Dwyer

Word has reached the press room that Steve O'Dywer is no more. Don't worry, he's alive and well, just out of the tournament.

The details are very vague but we do know he was holding {9-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} to Yury Gulyy's {k-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}. For some reason O'Dwyer didn't seem too impressed with his opponent's play.

Boeree Doubles With Kings

Liv Boeree doubles
Liv Boeree doubles

Liv Boeree opened for a raise in middle position, and Jon Warmerdam three-bet to 1,650 on her direct left. The action folded back to the Team Pro, who four-bet to an unknown amount, tossing out a blue T5,000 chip and announcing a number that our reporter could not hear.

Warmerdam five-bet to 16,650, Boeree moved all in for 18,500 total, and Warmerdam instantly called.

Warmerdam: {j-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}
Boeree: {k-Spades}{k-Hearts}

Boeree's kings held as the board ran out {8-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{q-Clubs}, and the Team Pro doubled to 38,000 chips. Warmerdam dropped to 53,000.
