Cold Four-Bet Alert

Level 2 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Over on table 1, that was playing 6-handed, Jason Koon opened the cutoff for 3,200. Chance Kornuth on the button made the call before small blind Alexandros Kolonias squeezed to 15,000. Big blind Mikhail Rudoy contemplated what to do for just a bit, before making it 36,000. Koon and Kornuth got out of the way, Kolonias made the call.

The flop came {2-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}{J-Hearts} and Kolonias checked. Rudoy bet 32,000 and Kolonias called.

The two of them both checked the {10-Diamonds} on the turn and the {K-Hearts} completed the board. Kolonias pushed in 165,000 or so, putting Rudoy to the decision for his remaining stack of about 140,000. Rudoy thought about it for a bit before he called by tossing in two low denomination chips.

Kolonias showed {A-Diamonds}{K-Clubs} for a straight, and Rudoy tabled {A-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds} for the same hand. Chop it up!

Bedell Looking To Turn Satellite Into More

Level 2 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Tom-Aksel Bedell opened in early position to 3,500, getting calls from both David Peters in the small blind and Juha Helppi in the big blind. The {9-Spades}{5-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} flop was checked around, which prompted Peters to lead out 7,300 on the {7-Clubs} turn. Helppi folded, and Bedell called.

On the {10-Hearts} river, Peters checked to Bedell. The Norwegian, who won a live satellite to qualify for this event, slid out a bet of 16,000. Peters called, but mucked when Bedell tabled {5-Spades}{5-Hearts} for a set of fives.

Aldemir Drops Some Chips

Level 2 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Hand 1

Rainer Kempe raised and picked up two callers including Manuchehr Ahadpur Khangah and Koray Aldemir in the big blind. All three players checked the flop of {Q-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}. On the {K-Hearts} turn, Aldemir bet 9,400 and Kempe folded, Khangah called.

The {3-Diamonds} river completed the board and Aldemir checked, Khangah bet 20,000 and that won the pot without showdown.

Hand 2

Adrian Mateos raised to 3,000 from under the gun and Aldemir called in the small blind, as did the big blind. The flop came {K-Hearts}{J-Hearts}{5-Clubs} and action checked to Mateos, who bet 8,000. Only Aldemir called and checked the {K-Diamonds} turn. Mateos fired a second bet worth 23,000 and that shut down all further action, as Aldemir sent his cards into the muck.

Juanda Bests Khangah

Level 2 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Manuchehr Ahadpur Khangah limped in, John Juanda raised to 3,500 and Adrian Mateos called in the big blind, as did Khangah. On the {K-Spades}{J-Spades}{6-Hearts} flop, Mateos and Khangah both checked. Juanda bet 6,000 and Mateos folded, Khangah called.

The {4-Hearts} turn brought a check by Khangah, a bet of 12,500 by Juanda and the call of the Iranian. Both players then checked the {6-Diamonds} river and Khangah turned over {5-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}. Juanda had that beat with {K-Hearts}{8-Hearts} and scooped the pot.

Nicolas Chouity vs Dominik Nitsche

Level 2 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Dominik Nitsche raised to 3,000 and Chouity called from the hijack. The flop came {5-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{3-Hearts} and both players checked.

Nitsche bet 8,000 on the turn which was the {5-Clubs} and Chouity called.

The German bet 13,000 on the river which was the {8-Diamonds}, and Chouity called again.

"You win," said Nitsche, flashing {a-Hearts}{2-Hearts} as Chouity showed {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds} to take down the pot.

Daniel Dvoress Eliminated

Level 2 : 600/1,200, 200 ante
Daniel Dvoress
Daniel Dvoress

We picked up the action on a {7-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{3-Hearts} flop, with over 55,000 already in the middle. Steve O'Dwyer was in the small blind and had a 25,000 chip in front of him. Dvoress, on the button, took several minutes before moving all in. The shove, around 110,000, got instantly called by O'Dwyer.

Steve O'Dwyer: {A-Diamonds}{A-Hearts}
Daniel Dvoress: {Q-Spades}{Q-Hearts}

Dvoress' pocket queens were in rough shape against O'Dwyer's aces. Neither the {4-Diamonds} turn nor {6-Spades} river improved Dvoress' hand, sending the Canadian high roller to the rail.

Koon Takes from Yaghmai

Level 3 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

On the heads-up flop of {Q-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}, Nariman Yaghmai checked and Jason Koon from one seat over bet 13,800 into a pot of around 28,000. Yaghmai called and the duo headed to the {7-Hearts} turn, which again saw Yaghmai checking. Koon bet 36,400 and that did the trick, as Yaghmai folded and fell below starting stack.
