Bustout Galore With Lewis, Gieles and Lichtenberger Gone

Level 16 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante
Luuk Gieles
Luuk Gieles

At the same time, three players busted on three different tables to reduce the field to 29 participants.

Ryan Riess had Andrew Lichtenberger at risk for what looked like 100,000 chips with the {A-Spades}{K-Spades} versus {Q-Spades}{Q-Hearts}. The flop {7-Spades}{3-Spades}{2-Spades} was kind of an overkill and the {K-Diamonds} turn and {K-Hearts} river didn't matter much anymore.

Then Romain Lewis lost his last chips in a similar flip with {3-Clubs}{3-Spades} against the {A-Spades}{K-Hearts} of Sam Chartier. The board ran out {K-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{6-Spades}{6-Clubs}.

Last but not least, Luuk Gieles three-bet all in for 115,000 out of the big blind. Initial raiser Jason Mercier tank-called after having opened to 12,500.

Gieles: {J-Clubs}{10-Clubs}
Mercier: {8-Clubs}{8-Spades}

The roller coaster board {Q-Spades}{J-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} reduced the field from 32 to 29 in a matter of one minute.

Kings for Coulier

Level 16 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Luuk Gieles moved all in for 50,000 with the {Q-Diamonds}{J-Spades} and Francois Billard called out of the small blind with the {A-Spades}{J-Clubs}. The board ran out {K-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{6-Spades}{4-Clubs}{Q-Hearts} and Gieles sat back down and put on his sunglasses. "Still alive, I can do this," the Dutchman said.

Over on the other table, Dominik Nitsche raised to 13,000 for the second hand in a row and again Arne Coulier called from two seats over. The Belgian had given up the first hand after the pot, now he stuck around on the {7-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{3-Spades} flop by check-calling a bet of 15,000. Both checked the {2-Clubs} turn and Nitsche then bet the {Q-Hearts} river for what looked like 40,000.

Coulier quickly called and turned over {K-Hearts}{K-Clubs} as winning hand.

Bustouts Continue; O'Dwyer and Srinivasan Gone

Level 16 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante
Steve O'Dwyer
Steve O'Dwyer

There will be no High Roller title this time for Steve O'Dwyer, as he shoved {10-}{9-} from the button into the {j-}{j-} of Arne Coulier in the big blind, and failed to improve.

Similarly Shyam Srinivasan is no longer in the field. He check-raised a flop of {j-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{6-Clubs} and Dominik Nitsche moved all-in. Srinivasan called and tabled {k-Hearts}{q-Hearts}, but Nitsche had outs to win holding {k-Clubs}{10-Clubs}. The turn was the {3-Clubs} and the {9-Clubs} on the river was a formality.

Celestino Fails to Run It Up

Level 16 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Ariel Celestino open-jammed for 76,000 and was called by Francois Billard in the small blind.

Billard: {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}
Celestino: {k-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}

Celestino was behind and would stay that way on a {q-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{8-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} leaving him with just 3,000 chips behind.

Despite doubling up the immeidate next hand holding {j-Hearts}{j-Clubs} against ODeen's {q-Clubs}{k-Spades}, he got his remaining 15,000 chips against Vladas Tamasauskas' {k-Spades}{6-Spades}, holding {7-Hearts}{9-Hearts}.

Palumbo Eliminates Vousden

Level 16 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Pre-flop Rocco Palumbo raised blind on blind and Vousden called. On the flop of {9-Hearts}{4-Spades}{7-Spades}, Palumbo checked and Vousden bet 18,000. Palumbo raised to 31,000 and Vousden shoved. Palumbo quickly called and showed {q-Spades}{q-Clubs} while Vousden had {k-}{9-}. The board ran out {q-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} and Vousden was dead, and eliminated, by the turn

Palma Due But Doesn't Get There

Level 16 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante
Nicholas Palma
Nicholas Palma

Sylvain Loosli raised to 12,500 and Nicholas Palma then three-bet to 38,000 from two seats over before Loosli made it 92,000 to go. Palma jammed for around 240,000 and Loosli snap-called.

"Sorry. I am super due for this," Palma said and flipped over the {10-Spades}{10-Clubs}. Loosli was ahead with {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts} and held up despite a very scary board of {J-Spades}{9-Clubs}{8-Spades}{2-Spades}{4-Hearts}.

Sammartino Busts to Arruda

Level 15 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
Dario Sammartino
Dario Sammartino

William Arruda opened to 10,500 from the cutoff and Pierre Neuville called out of the small blind before Dario Sammartino jammed for what looked like 88,000 out of the big blind. Arruda reshoved and Neuville quickly let go.

Sammartino: {A-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}
Arruda: {7-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}

The board came {K-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{3-Spades} and Sammartino was also sent to the rail.

MacPhee No More

Level 15 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Kevin MacPhee three-bet shoved once and got through with it, but the second attempt went wrong and sent him to the rail. It was Marco Leonzio that min-raised to 10,000 and MacPhee jammed for 65,000 from the big blind to receive a quick call.

MacPhee: {9-Hearts}{9-Spades}
Leonzio: {J-Diamonds}{J-Spades}

The former EPT Main Event champion found no help on the board {5-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}{6-Spades} and headed out of the tournament area.

Loosli Cracks Greenwood's Kings

Level 15 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
Luc Greenwood
Luc Greenwood

Sylvain Loosli raised to 11,000 from middle position and was three-bet by Luc Greenwood in the hijack. Loosli called and the two players saw a flop of {6-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{q-Spades}. Loosli then check-raised Greenwood's continuation bet of 20,000 all-in and Greenwood called.

Greenwood: {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}
Loosli: {a-Hearts}{j-Hearts}

It was an overpair versus a flush draw, as the turn came {7-Hearts}, Greenwood was drawing dead and the {q-Spades} sealed his fate as he headed promptly to the exit
