Lodge Crams the River

Level 5 : 200/400, 400 ante

On a board of {10-Clubs}{j-Spades}{2-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}, a player in the small blind bet 1,000 into about 2,500 and Harry Lodge raised to 3,200 in early position. They went to the river for that price, and it was a {5-Hearts}. The small blind checked and Lodge didn't think long before dropping in about 30,000 to set him in, which resulted in an immediate fold.

Van Brugge Takes From Grafton

Level 5 : 200/400, 400 ante
Sam Grafton Kees van Brugge

Kees van Brugge and Sam Grafton were involved in a pot together. The board was {3-Clubs}{K-Spades}{4-Clubs}{10-Hearts} and both players invested some more to grow the pot to 7,400.

Grafton thought about it on the {7-Hearts} river but both players checked. Grafton showed {9-Clubs}{6-Hearts} and Van Brugge took it down with {Q-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}.

Joris Ruijs, who made Day 2 with a stack of 236,800 and is sitting third in chips after Day 1a, was standing on the rail with a pair of ear warmers since Van Brugge admitted to being cold.

Grafton joined the conversation claiming he wanted to bluff Van Brugge on the river, but because of Ruijs his presence he opted not to.

Sow Bests Panyak Then Busts Another Foe

Level 5 : 200/400, 400 ante
Kalidou Sow
Kalidou Sow

Kalidou Sow called on the button when Maxim Panyak opened in the hijack and then called a continuation-bet on the {5-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{10-Clubs} flop. Panyak checked the {10-Diamonds} turn and called 4,200 from Sow. Both players checked the {j-Hearts} and Panyak showed {k-Clubs}{2-Clubs} for a missed flush, with Sow taking the pot with {7-Spades}{6-Spades}.

The next hand, Sow raised in the cutoff and an opponent in the big blind defended. That player led out for 1,100 on the {7-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{3-Spades} flop and Sow made it 3,300. They went to the turn, which was the {2-Clubs}. The big blind check-called 5,100 and the river was a {3-Hearts}. The big blind checked and Sow set him in for about 19,000.

After about 30 seconds and some shrugging, the big blind slammed in his chips but his {9-}{8-} was no match for Sow's {a-Clubs}{a-Spades}.

It's not certain how the action went down but PokerStars Team Pro Fatima Moreira de Melo just won a pretty sizeable pot.
