No EPT Title for Sow and Sorrentino For Now

Level 6 : 200/500, 500 ante
Kalidou_Sow
Kalidou_Sow

Kalidou Sow and Raffaele Sorrentino both won Main Events of the 2017 PokerStars Championship last year but they won't be adding an EPT title to their resume for now after busting for a second time in this event. Other notable bustouts and some assorted counts can be found below.

Sow faced a limp by Nacho Barbero in the small blind and raised it up to 1,600, which Barbero called. On the {A-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{4-Hearts} flop, Barbero check-called a bet of 1,700 and the duo checked the {J-Clubs} turn. After the {2-Diamonds} on the river, Barbero checked and moved all in over a 5,100 bet by Sow, who called the jam for less than that with {A-Hearts}{7-Spades}. Barbero had the {A-Spades}{J-Diamonds} for aces and jacks, and that sent Sow packing for good here in Monaco.

Kiletto Doubles Through Panouille

Level 6 : 200/500, 500 ante

Lily Kiletto ended up all in and at risk for her last 16,300 and PokerStars qualifier Alan Panouille looked her up with the {A-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}. Kiletto had the dominating {A-Clubs}{K-Hearts} and paired her king on the board of {K-Spades}{10-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} to remain in contention.

Chouity Busts Simonet

Level 6 : 200/500, 500 ante

On the heads-up turn of {K-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{8-Spades}, Stephane Simonet bet 2,200 with few chips behind and Nicolas Chouity moved all in. Simonet gave it some thought, sighed and called all in for 8,600.

Stephane Simonet: {A-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}
Nicolas Chouity: {J-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}

The former EPT Main Event champion Chouity had flopped a straight and only a jack on the river could save Simonet, instead it was the blank {4-Spades} that sent the Frenchman to the rail.

Chip Counts from Level 6

Level 6 : 200/500, 500 ante

Below are assorted stacks across the room in the last level before the dinner break.

Fatehi Wheelin' and Dealin'

Level 6 : 200/500, 500 ante
Ali Reza Fatehi
Ali Reza Fatehi

Iranian businessman Ali Reza Fatehi, fresh off a third place in the €100k Super High Roller worth €669,920, has dialed up the action over at table 1. In the first hand, the board read {3-Spades}{10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} and Fatehi bet 2,700, which Yehoram Houri called.

The river brought the {4-Clubs} and Fatehi fired 17,700 in the middle, leaving himself with just 10,000 behind. Houri called relatively quickly but was aghast when Fatehi flipped over {A-Hearts}{2-Spades} for the rivered wheel.

Shortly after, EPT National High Roller Raffaele Carnevale opened to 1,000 and Mikhail Korotkikh called. Fatehi made it 4,200 out of the small blind and both other players came along. Fatehi bet 10,000 on the {10-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{7-Hearts} flop, getting rid of Korotkikh, and the 29,200 on the {K-Hearts} turn was enough to fold out Carnevale as well.

Mrakes and Bedell Gone for Good

Level 5 : 200/400, 400 ante
Michal Mrakes
Michal Mrakes

Soon after getting back in for his second bullet, Michal Mrakes lost almost his entire stack and was spotted at risk preflop with four callers. They headed to a flop of {8-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{2-Clubs}, on which Andrey Andreev moved all in for his last 3,200 in the cutoff. The button and small blind called, Ondrej Drozd in the big blind folded, as did Andreas Freund.

Both the {2-Diamonds} turn and the {7-Hearts} river were checked and Mrakes showed {A-Hearts}{K-Hearts}, which Andreev had beat with {6-Spades}{6-Hearts}. Neither of the other two players could beat that with {A-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} and {3-Hearts}{5-Hearts} respectively, and Andreev more than tripled up while Mrakes was ousted for the second and final time.

Tom-Aksel Bedell also won't be able to re-enter anymore either after having busted on Day 1a already. He got his short stack in with the {A-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} and Nicolas Dumont looked him up with the {10-Clubs}{10-Hearts}. The board ran out {4-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{3-Spades}{9-Clubs}{10-Spades} and Dumont hot a full house to dispatch Bedell.

Jiang Doubles With Aces

Level 5 : 200/400, 400 ante

A preflop raising war broke out between Ermo Kosk and Honglin Jiang, and the former was spotted with a raise to 4,200. Jiang clicked it back to 10,700 and Kosk moved all in after some consideration, which saw Jiang literally beat him into the pot with a snap-call for around 36,000.

Honglin Jiang: {A-Spades}{A-Hearts}
Ermo Kosk: {Q-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}

There was a small additional sweat for Jiang on a board of {K-Clubs}{10-Spades}{8-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}, but he ultimately doubled.
